Spectacular idea. Can you support a new system to name storms? Well worth considering.

Go to http://www.climatenamechange.org

Since 1954, the World Meteorological Organization has been naming extreme storms after people. But we propose a new naming system. One that names extreme storms caused by climate change, after the policy makers who deny climate change and obstruct climate policy. If you agree, sign the petition at http://www.climatenamechange.org/#/pe...

Evaculate well in advance from Superstorm T. Boone Pickens.

Hurricane Rockefeller will wipe out most of the Atlantic Seaboard.

We've had only two hurricanes so far this year, both Category 1. The first tied for the latest in the season for a hurricane to form. What might have been major storms in other years have just fizzled out.

The main culprits seem to be more dry air, which kills developing storms, and less atmospheric instability, which keeps from from spinning up.

This shouldn't come as any surprise. If you look at the history of sea travel over the past several thousand years, it appears that during the warm, dry periods people were sailing all over the place and discovering new lands -- while during the cold and stormy phases, they stuck to land routes or just stayed at home.

They are more effective against the deniers if they just churn out accurate forecasts. If they do stunts like that, then they have an agenda, and will be less effective.

Hurricanes and Typhoons are not named AFTER people. They are simply given human names.

BTW - Where are all the super storms this year?

As I saw it, the video was an illumination of the idiocies of those in power we have to contend with. We are forced to take them seriously, and in showing them up it became an attempt at poking fun at them and relieving some frustration in a hearty laugh or two.

I posted it in that spirit and obviously failed to make that clear
