Related: About this forumOh my, George Galloway: US in Bed w/ al-Qaeda & Christian Leaders
He has some not so nice things to say about all of this and he is going to make a documentary about it...and wants to take Micheal Moore's title away...go get em George.

(18,402 posts)Since the Syrian Christians are supporting Assad (and we don't, though we haven't done anything to get rid of him). So is he saying the US is for both the pro-government and anti-government forces?

(18,998 posts)They are all for the war because Israel wants it, and they want to bring on the Rapture and the final days...just listen to them.

(18,402 posts)And let's not confuse the US with fringe elements within the US who have nothing to do with the administration's geo-political considerations. This is not a partisan issue. There are those on the right and left who oppose any kind of intervention (but for very different reasons), and those on the right and the left who favor intervention (but for very different reasons).

(18,998 posts)He is spot on...and you can find it by just listening to them, if you have the stomach for it...and it is common to most right wingers because the fundies are their base.

(6,852 posts)... Saying gays are not executed in Iran and it just use my the people who want war.
"Galloway asserted on The Wright Stuff chat show (13 March 2008) that the executed boyfriend of homosexual Iranian asylum seeker Mehdi Kazemi was executed for sex crimes rather than for being homosexual. Galloway also stated on The Wright Stuff that the case of gay rights in Iran was being used by supporters of a war with Iran.[129]"
Scott Long, writing in The Guardian on 31 March, criticised Galloway's claim that "homosexuals are not executed in Iran, just rapists", pointing out that current law in the country stipulates that "Penetrative sex acts between men can bring death on the first conviction".[130] Long-time gay rights activist Peter Tatchell, writing in The Guardian on 26 March, accused Galloway of spouting "Iranian Propaganda", continuing: "His claim that lesbian and gay people are not at risk of execution in Iran is refuted by every reputable human rights organisation, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and the International Lesbian and Gay Association."[131]

So why do we take him seriously.

(24,010 posts)Every country in the world has problems including human rights violations, and the USA and its allies have committed some of the worst human rights violations ever.
Consider the slaughter of a hundred thousand people by U.S. "shock and awe" bombing of Baghdad.
Consider the torture of prisoners of war and the shredding of the Geneva Conventions.
Consider the Patriot Act.
Consider U.S. drone bombings in Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, with not a whole of niceties about innocent bystanders, not to mention the right to trial.
Consider capital punishment and U.S. prisons jammed with the poor, especially African-Americans, the great majority suffering draconian sentences for minor crimes.
Consider the routine rape in U.S. prisons--so common that cops use it as a threat.
You going to send U.S. missiles, bombers, troops, gunships--and make a whole lot of war profiteers richer than ever-- to correct every wrong on earth BY KILLING MORE PEOPLE.
Think about war propaganda! Please!
The Last time Iran started a war. Georgian-Persian War-(1795-1796)-After consolidating his power, Agha Mohammed invaded the Caucasian kingdom of Georgia, which had previously been a part of the Persian Empire, but had broken away following the death of Nadir Shah in 1747. Persian forces invaded Georgia and defeated the Georgian King Heraclius.

(28,498 posts)For years, GW Bush played footsie with OBL, seemingly never wanting to "capture him" too much. And if we really wanted to go after the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11, we'd be bombing the hell out of Saudi Arabia.
However, we are "white slaves." We take our orders from the House of Saud.

(18,998 posts)Bomb the guy Bush held hands with?...the ones that made him and his whole family richer?
Nope blame it on OBL and keep him around to scare the hell out of us and fuel 2 wars...makes sense to me.

(20,453 posts)I'm so sick of bullshit comments that draw RT into it.
I'm guessing Al Jazeera TV would be next to rip up. The fact is, there is some commentary being brought into world government that you and others in the thread don't exactly dig.
So, they do what any red blooded person hastily does... resort to ad hominem!

(1,560 posts)Whenever a mass murdering tyrant needs support, Galloway is more than happy to help. Provided, of course, they are anti-US and anti-Israel.
