Abandon the Bought Congress like Teddy Roosevelt

The libertarians/republicans in Congress and the Senate are treasonous, that's not debatable, what to do about is. Obama has already gone to the people. He discussed Lobby dollars and Citizens United. He and his party have time after time relayed the message to the people "Republicans/libertarians want me(The President) to fail, THEY WANT AMERICA TO FAIL"!

What more can he say?

We need to FLOOD THE EARS of every republican we know with this message. Call the conservative Senators and members of Congress. Fill their answering machines until they have to change the number.
Obama can't do it on his own. We have to scare the shit out of the right wing nuts so they understand their jobs, their paychecks, are on the line!

radically. I don't know what else is said but Dylan's' solution to begin getting money out of politics is a game-changer that might prevent class warfare (money buys armies...MIC) in America.

We need to hear this 24/7..."get the money out of politics", on every teevee and radio station in the world.

CORPORATIONS ARE NOT PEOPLE. UNIONS CANNOT SURVIVE IN "RIGHT TO WORK STATES" THAT SAY THAT YOU CAN JOIN A UNION AND NOT PAY DUES. UNIONS USE DUES ($25 A MONTH!) TO ORGANIZE AND PAY ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS. THE R.W.'ERS KNOW THIS AND PLAN TO DESTROY UNIONS BY CUTTING THEIR FUNDING OFF.
We must stop the corporatists before it is too late. It is almost too late already.

well as bad as they are it is debatable cause treason is actually defined in the constitution itself

We have to scare the shit out of the right wing nuts so they understand their jobs, their paychecks, are on the line! this wont work either most of the teatards are just punching their ticket in congress hoping that when they are ousted they are taken care of by the koch suckers that run the republican party

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

When an elected official says they want the president to fail, they are aiding our enemies. They are letting our enemies know they have a friend, a friend that shares their sentiments, in OUR CONGRESS.

I agree, it's obviously debatable. I got a little excited there, sorry.

Although with their gerrymandered districts, a lot of Rethugs feel safe from hellfire. But go ahead and give it to 'em anyway. Letters to newspaper editorial pages are likelier to reach a wider segment of the voting public. I think that's where the greatest influence can be made.

Banking, trade and tax. They all work together.

Let's take trade.

Right now we have a huge imbalance in our trade. We import far more value than we export.

American, excuse me, mutinational companies, have exported the jobs Americans used to do by importing products made in cheap-labor economies (economies in which labor is especially cheap compared to American wages because of tricks in evaluating currencies -- which is part of the banking aspect of this). So, banking keeps the value of the American dollar super-high and the value of other currencies very low. That makes a few Americans who profit from exploiting foreign labor to feed their overseas bank accounts fat and lazy.

Then, our tax system primarily taxes wages and earnings from labor. Those who live off their investments and can wait to take their profits and organize their business budgets well enough can take their "pay" or profits at a very low tax rate. But working people, the 9-5 crowd pays taxes on every dollar. Professional people, the American servants of the fat and lazy, that is, lawyers, doctors, etc. pay high tax rates on earned money. The fat and lazy pay low tax rates on the same kinds of incomes. Go figure.

Then we get to the real kicker.

The fat cats don't pay the same share of taxes as the hardworking classes -- laborers and professionals -- but they do outsource jobs. Factories in many parts of the US have closed down or are staying in business just long enough to enjoy special tax breaks given them by states and municipalities hungry for jobs, any kind of jobs, that will produce some tax revenue even if not nearly as much as is needed.

Think of it. While our government, our banking and tax systems facilitate the outsourcing and exporting of jobs, our federal government relies to a great extent on the taxes on wages, on earnings from working people to keep it going.

Our trade policy, however, facilitates decreasing the numbers of jobs in the US and reducing the wages of American workers. Our tax policies are our own worst enemy.

We need to return to taxing imports to the extent that we can balance out the loss in our tax revenue that occurs when we import the goods and export the work and the taxable wages the work translates into.

And banking -- the greed of our banks and the manipulation of currency and investment -- is the vertebrae of the entire system. Everything goes through the banks. Everything is manipulated by the banks. And they could care less about America or Americans. They are international, not American.

We don't have to go to the extreme. We don't have to become isolated or overly nationalistic. We don't have to oppress people in other countries. But we have to take care of ourselves, of our own country. And we are not doing that.

Dylan Ratigan may sound steamy, angry, like a tea kettle full of boiling water. But he is right: banking, trade and tax policy. The triumvirate that will bring down the American empire and America in the process.

And, yes, campaign finance is the problem. As a country, the minute our Supreme Court ruled that money is speech in terms of the First Amendment, it took off the skirt and underwear of America and exposed its private parts, its most essential, intimate parts to rape by anyone with enough money to step forward and ravage the nation.

"COMPLETE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM (CCFR) and Publicly Funded Elections over and over as the answer to many of our nation's problems! Politicians stopped being for "We the People" and became for the Big Donors only a long time ago! They have us chasing all of the wrong Bogeymen and fighting each other like the Hatfield's and McCoy's. They shape the opinions of the relatively uninformed. They are working a whole chessboard approach to the world and we are mere Pawns in the game. We need to demonstrate that they are mistaken if they think we will remain apathetic.

But that requires a REAL Leader and a REAL Opposition Party, and we don't have either of those in DC right now.
