To mark the first day of the Affordable Care Act exchanges, Bill Maher sent his resident documentarian Alexandra Pelosi (daughter of Nancy) out to the streets of New York to find out what regular people know about the law. Like Jimmy Kimmel’s Los Angelenos, New Yorkers are apparently as uninformed about the law as everyone else.

Disinformation works great. This is less not being informed as being misinformed. And I could name the sources from which they got their so-called 'information.' They aren't the only ones drinking those brands of kool-aid.

It sad that our various forms of media, which have the power to teach us so much, is instead being used to make people incapable of wise choices. It is a malignant form of news. It's absorbed like anything else in our consumer society. The commodity being sold is the desruction of civil society.
