well I found this person that noticed something that we or the media did not, and it makes you go hmmmm...

(43,888 posts)It would be even more interesting to know who that white haired man is and who he was texting.
But yeah, it's looking more like a put up job.
As for the Pox edit, I'm not a bit surprised because I know when the event was posted here at DU, people remarked that no one could understand what she was saying, the mike was too far away.

(57,013 posts)well, for lack of another word, news to most of us.
But I give, whats the hidden agenda?

But the facts are there for us to see if we are not afraid to look.
marble falls
(57,013 posts)to say on the dais (intercepted/silenced by an opposition conspiracy) that degenerated into babble at the elevator? What was supposed to happen if her truth had gotten out there?
There was way too much significance interjected into what was basically a street scene.

(18,998 posts)that don't blow anything up or cause us to be concerned about our safety or our government operations...just ignore them.
I happen to believe it is a mistake to ignore them, just because the did not commit any crime.

Agnosticsherbet
(11,619 posts)in the chambers wasn't up to the job, and that was the message someone wanted to get out. I wonder who the gentleman was that talked to her and sent the text message?
d_r
(6,907 posts)Because I knew the woman and her husband had talked about it. I figured it was just something nutty on the video.
But that really is interesting.
First, it is pretty clear what fox news did in doctoring the video. There's really no doubt that they dubbed in the audio from outside the elevator to the footage of the house floor. They should get busted more for all this crap.
So I thought it was interesting just in terms of busting fox news.
But then she shows the part of the white haired gentleman going up to the woman and nodding to her just before she goes up to the podium, and how he immediately starts texting on his phone when she gets up. OK, that really is weird.
So that really does seem odd. What could the purpose be of doing this intentionally? Who is that guy with the white hair?
FraDon
(518 posts)Note how her expression changes and her demeanor almost zombifies; it looks to me like this woman was launched / activated. Smells like an Op to me.
Who is the white-haired man?!
zeemike
(18,998 posts)And if you know about hypnosis and how it works you will understand how it is passable to implant suggestions and trigger the response.

(86,332 posts)Many will just blow it off as "nothing to see here, move along". I saw the expression change as he finished talking to her, she seemed to be "activated" by some suggestion. I have seen hypnosis up close, real close and have seen "activation" happen. It's spooky and real. My brother was able to hypnotize people when he was about 12 and he did this to one of our nannies a few times. She was not capable of faking it and it was creepy how he was able to manipulate her.
So this woman could have been manipulated in this way, it doesn't take much to execute an "activation" and it appeared to have been just that in the video. A lot of these holy-rollers are manipulated by this very technique. I suspect that some of these mega-church leaders are mass hypnotists who can manage to entrance groups and never deactivate them... so they are "on" whenever approached by nonmembers and so they spew their dogma at every opportunity. Maybe that's why Ms. Bachman is such an incoherent nut case.
So why should anyone care about this event? Maybe because anyone with an agenda of ill repute who is willing to demonstrate such activity on the floor of the House could possibly exhibit something far more despicable at some other time and event that would be a game changer... like an assassination or something that drastic? Seriously, if this is the tactic then perhaps the zombie craze isn't such a far stretch after all.
Just sayin'
And no, I'm not some whacko, I'm just expressing a more developed thought process - regarding something I know to be true or possible - that may or may not be the situation here but does warrant more consideration in my reckoning.
zeemike
(18,998 posts)Sense ironically the age of about 12....and you are correct
And if you have not seen it here is evidence of just what it can do...
Bookmarked for later when I feel like getting creeped out...
But seriously, my brother used/uses it as a sexual predator... an abusive one. I have counseled many a girl/woman after he had interacted with them, totally sucks.
I have no doubt that when a person is susceptible to this type of manipulation that the manipulator can make them do whatever they are told to do and there is little that can break the influence in most who are being used. I would suspect that the Jonestown folks were victims of this but once they were put in a certain situation of endangerment, many did come out of the trance but were forced at gunpoint to drink the kool-aide anyway.
At this point I would have to insert that there is a certain aspect of Jonestownism in the "Cruz-aide" drinkers... and Jim DeMint is probably still residing in the house that "The Family" owns in DC even though he's got a new gig.
Anyway, it's a dangerous thing and a lot has to be done to thwart the influence of the Dominionist movement because they are steamrolling us before our very eyes. using a variety of tactics that seem innocuous on the surface but have a very dark agenda attached.

(18,998 posts)I once saw a demonstration where the hypnotist lit a big torch on stage and there were about 100 or so people in the audience, and he asked all to look at the torch and suddenly he shouted SLEEP and clapped his hands...that is all he did, and tow people in the audience went to sleep...he then brought them on stage hand had them do all sorts of things...
So my rough guess is that is is about 2 percent.
But that experiment I gave you is very interisting...and quite revealing.
Oh and BTW, I was interested in it but never practiced it.
zeemike
(18,998 posts)Just another nutty conspiracy on Youtube...but I changed my mind when I saw the whole thing...
The reaction of the white haired man was indeed strange...he never even glances at her as she ranted...just continued with his texting.

(14,755 posts)He may have knew that this was going to happen, but who cares?
Religious nuts do stuff like this all of the time. No one was hurt. No harm was done.
We're not talking about an assassination attempt or terrorist bombing here - just some crazy nut job.
zeemike
(18,998 posts)Who cares?
Nobody cares and that is our problem and why they keep doing shit on us.

(12,882 posts)of the video here. The narrator says that White Hair never looks at the gal as she starts her rant. That's not 100% true. In the last couple of seconds, White Hair does turn his head away from his phone to look towards the stenographer. Clearly he's taking note of her outburst. Now whether or not he initiated her actions, well, that's to be determined.
Dawgs
(14,755 posts)She was yelling on the floor AND in front of the elevator. I don't understand why this is a big conspiracy.
Yes, the media edited it to show something that didn't happen in the way they presented it, but why is anyone surprised?
The guy nodding and "texting" proved nothing. He didn't do anything that was out of the ordinary.
zeemike
(18,998 posts)He says a few words to her, she stands up like a robot and proceeds to the mike...he turns and starts texting and never once glances at someone that is doing something very strange...that is not ordinary behavior.
Dawgs
(14,755 posts)Also, what does it matter? Did she attempt to assassinate someone? Was she planning on setting off a bomb? No, she was doing what religious, brain-washed, nut jobs do - acting crazy in public. That's hardly something to get all conspiratorial about.
zeemike
(18,998 posts)He did and did not even glance her way.
But this is not consperatorial...it is just observing some strange behaviour...but if it makes you feel better just dismiss it from your mind.
Dawgs
(14,755 posts)zeemike
(18,998 posts)And none of us should care what happens on the floor of the House...or if people are manipulated to do crazy stuff.
I do because I despise manipulators even if they manipulate religious nut cases.

(14,549 posts)What she is saying there is not substantively different from what she is reported to have said at the podium:
>>'He will not be mocked. He will not be mocked- don't touch me- He will not be mocked,' she said.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2464079/House-stenographer-starts-yelling-God-right-debt-ceiling-crisis-averted.html
But the conversation with the white haired dude is interesting. Possibly he is telling her NOT to do it. You see him shake his head "no" before the nods -- possibly she tells him she is losing it. And he goes from "no" you shouldn't go to the podium.
Then he immediately starts texting his niece to tell her there is a job opening for House Stenographer. (I kid, but the exchange IS interestingly timed.)

(484 posts)Request the context of his texting from the NSA and ask for a facial recognition from NCIS. That should clear it up.
Seriously, not that many people are on the floor at this time. He should be fairly easy to identify. Once that is done, since all these congressmen wear their heart on their sleeves, you'll know their motive. I also think that there is some cause and effect with their interaction.

(4,344 posts)manipulation. Get more and more uninformed people to buy into the right wing crazy creed. There should and needs to be regulation (Oh, Oh that dirty word for reich wingers) and severe penalties for media outlets who twist and outright lie to the public. Isn't this inciting people to do evil?

(21,102 posts)The only outcome of her outbursts was the ending of her job as the House stenographer. Unless there is a larger purpose to this, I'm having a hard time believing this was some sort of conspiracy. I can't identify who would stand to gain much less how anyone could possibly gain by this poor woman going bananas in public.

Was she exposing something of significance that needed to be squelched?
Was she a distraction to draw scrutiny away from some other activity taking place?
Whatever the case, I don't believe she is a lone nutbag anymore. Something more interesting was happening.

(2,419 posts)Come on, someone must recognize him!
global1
(25,225 posts)especially the pic of him down the page with his head slightly turned. Looks like the same hair style of the gray haired guy on the floor of the House where all we saw was his profile. Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Young
But this gets stranger - because I thought I had ID'd him but his wikipedia page says:
On October 18, 2013, Young died at Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland. He had been hospitalized for almost two weeks with back problems that resulted from injuries he sustained in a small plane crash in 1970. He was 82 and is survived by his wife and five children.[40][41][42][43]
So I guess this couldn't be him because I believe that the outburst came on Oct 17th and he died the day after. As he was at Walter Reed he Can't be in two places at the same time.
Looks like I'll have to see if another House Rep looks like this guy.

(2,097 posts)Took a stroll through the Youtube comments (which are a vortex of paranoia). Someone pointed out thet the gray-haired ban looks a lot like Rep. Bill Young of Florida -- or, as he is known today, the late Rep. Bill Young of Florida, who died two days after this vote.
