(5,756 posts)I don't see the problem here. I think the billions in today's dollars we're spending on the F-35 for a practically useless (so far) weapon should be an issue though.

(37,449 posts)they have thrown tons of money into her over the years starting with the big fire and several others along with refitments...its was a stripped out hulk that no one wanted.

Aren't aircraft carriers sitting ducks for drones and robosubs? Is maybe that the point? They can sail around being the chip on the USA bully's shoulder.

(5,610 posts)will buy a junked vehicle for $50 or more. Why would the navy sell all of that "scrap" for 1 penny? Someone is "making out like a bandit."
How much in kickbacks were gotten?

(1,957 posts)It's not that they did not use this ship but they certainly did not look for the best bargain at the end. It's like that when the money does not come directly out of their own pockets.
