Of course in some instances we will have to settle for prosecution only.

It is not like they did/do not know what this spying on EVERYONE would mean to our supposed form of government.
They have proven, ala W., that the constitution is only "a damned piece of paper."

MY GOD, even the big wigs who have been in charge of our national security for decades are quitting, whistle-blowing, WARNING us
of the DANGER that we are in.
EAST GERMANY! Read up on it.

Yet "our politicians" and their benefactors have found the perfect way to black-mail, intimidate and control ANYONE they so choose.
"If you dare to cross us, we will tell everyone (we own the unregulated media) that you___________________. fill in the blank.

Do you trust an administration, agency, corporation, etc.. with that type of illegal information? I don't.

A leader for the people would have ended this practice as soon as he/she learned of it. Probably among large fanfare because they would be saving Americans rights and upholding the constitution.

Soon, maybe already, it will be too late to stop this corporatist take-over of the world.
Screw what the corporate party wants (it is all for them any way), we the people must now take the reigns and legally choose our leaders, based on their actions.

How can we allow "them" to prosecute the whistle-blowers who have brought these America destroying actions to our attention?

of a fair trial, of representative government, of democracy, of even a quasi-democracy.

The entire process is watched making it very, very easy to rig. What a joke this makes of our Constitution and our country.

Right now, world leaders are angry about this massive spying. But sooner or later they will be laughing at it.

You and I can't pull pranks on the NSA, but certain other countries and corporations easily could. How mind-boggling stupid of the NSA to invest so much in this program.

This is what happens when a bunch of smart guys delude themselves into thinking they are the only smart guys in the world. I've seen people do this before. When the inevitable stumble happens, it is such a shock that they can't believe that it happened, much less that it was their own arrogance and hubris that caused their fall.

expanded to an incomprehensible level, it's criminal...everything pales in comparison. When people like Binney are quitting in protest, it's no longer a question of an NSA/Snowden hero or traitor scenario, the gov't is going against our Constitution...what else must be said?
