It's never the southerners on DU who talk about the civil war.

It's always someone not from here who keeps telling us we can't forget forget about it. We'd sure like to but we just continually get reminded about something that happened 150 years ago. I remember in middle school asking whose side we had been on and turns out that is complicated since my state was very divided and half of it tried to secede from the confederacy (after the state initially went with the north and then changed). None of my ancestors fought for he confederacy but I am continually told at DU that I am an ignorant racist who can't forget the civil war because I live in TN. And, of course, Democrats should cut off the south. Yep, it's a big tent around here at times. Not everyone, but lots of bigots left.
