(22,669 posts)Now go off and play with all your colorful unnatural plastic toys. Toys whose lifetimes will be a few years before they are discarded, and decades, no centuries, no thousands and tens of thousands of years before the plastics they're made of are broken down by natural processes.
Remember. Every singled ounce of plastic ever made, whether recycled or not, is still here on Earth. YEAH!
It's a bummer. I know. But it's the truth.

(180 posts)I think it is held by Bain Capital Partners LLC, Kohlberg Kravis, Roberts & Co. and Vornado. It does not surprise me that Bain would push consumerism over science and nature.

(4,695 posts)In my opinion, children on a public school bus are exuberant to get to go on a trip to take their classroom outside. Just ask to be a volunteer at your local school to help monitor a field trip and make your own decision.
Also this is how corporations operate in order to try to convert parent control in a public setting, over to a charter or private education situation. And it is a way to excuse responsibility for the health of the environment; therefore the health of all living organisms. In other words consume yourself in a corporatist society, promote carbon to make plastics and don't worry about your child's education or the future.
By the way, in public education there are learning objectives. This activity, in the video, about toys would be on a profiteer's agenda, as a gift for a parent choosing a charter as a door prize, not as an alternative education objective on a public school curriculum activity.
