I was not quite ten years old. It is interesting to see and hear it at this time decades later. I recall at the time thinking what a difference between Johnson and Kennedy, the way they looked, the way they sounded, etc. What a long, strange trip it's been.

but he seemed sincere.

At least he had the decency to regret his actions in Vietnam. But I wouldn't be able to vote or sit where I wanted to had it not been for his courage and commitment to equality. I believe he has never been given all the credit he is due for his leadership in this cause. But I am forever grateful to President Johnson. Wish he was around to weigh in on the Washington of today.
