Related: About this forumJon Stewart Interview With George Carlin From 1997
The interview is from 1997, years before Stewart got the Daily Show gig. The late comic legend shares some of his thoughts on show business, success and more. Stewart shows that he's always been a terrific interviewer and that he has great taste in leather jackets.
But perhaps the best moment comes around 9:45 as segment is ending. Carlin tells Stewart, "You are going to show us a lot, and I look forward to it."

I always love a calm conversation with comics, where they aren't being pressured to put out shtick.

Carlin has been relevant in my life since the 60s.
Oddly enough, it was my father who turned me on to Carlin.
He had seen a clip of the "Hippie Dippie Weatherman" somewhere and told me that that guy was a genius,
and I should watch him.
(I didn't watch much TV in the 60s)
Again, great clip.

Eighty percent of success is showing up, But for people like Carlin and Steward, using intellect gives one a sense of joy in humor, Carlin is a souvenir from the past.
