1. I donate to our local Humane Society shelter. Have adopted two cats from them. I like Donnie.

And I would rather see Donnie than those tear-jerker ads that are on TV now. I think those national ad campaigns do serve a purpose though. The local shelters do not have money for advertising. Hopefully, people will see them and go to the locals to adopt.
