Happy Valentine's Day! "I Saw the Light" by Todd Rundgren (1972)

Wikipedia:

"I Saw the Light" is the opening track from Todd Rundgren's 1972 Something/Anything? double album.

In the liner notes to Something/Anything?, Rundgren states that he intended the song to be the hit of the album, and copied the Motown tradition of putting hit songs at the beginning of albums. Rundgren's version peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100,[1] and at #12 on the Easy Listening chart.[2] Overseas, it went to #36 on the UK Singles Chart.[3] However, in the US at least, Something/Anything? actually contained a bigger hit than "I Saw The Light", as the album's third single "Hello It's Me" climbed to #5.[4]

I'm only 22 but have been listening to this non stop since hearing it during Dick Biondi's timeslot on WLS-FM. (Yes he's still on the radio, and "The Big 89" has been revived in Chicago on 94.7 FM!)

You should also listen to "A Wizard, A True Star." That is simply one awesome album that Todd did.

Glad to hear that someone as young as you are is listening to this stuff. I remember when Something Anything was brand spankin' new!

I see Todd Rundgren is on Daryl Hall's show. I enjoy the music of both those guys. It's a good show, Live at Daryl's House.
