It's the more moderate or "uncommitted" folks who stay home or move to the right, and they do this because they don't feel that Democrats are fighting for them.

Democrats need to embrace Liberal values, not kick them to the curb, to increase our voting numbers. We need FDR/Warren, not Clinton/Obama/WallStreet.

If he had a strong, liberal agenda all the way around, he would have more support and stir up more enthusiasm. His presidency has been far to cautious. What happened to the campaign to raise the minimum wage for example? Was that just for show?

Don't shoot the DU messengers.

We on DU don't set policy goals. The president does. If he is doing his job, he will win the election. If he is inspiring voters, they will come out even in off-year elections. Don't blame those who see the inadequacies of the Obama administration. Blame the inadequacies.

Why did Obama appoint Tim Geithner and the Larry Summers crowd to high places in his first term? And why are so many clueless conservative Democrats in his current cabinet? Those are the questions that should be asked.

Don't shoot the DU messengers.

And they will keep on running and winning until they are held accountable.

Of course, they, the criminals in both parties, know they will never be held accountable because of the substantially large right wing authoritarian idol worshiping base in both political parties, that equally vote against their own best interest.

In other words, fuck the Koch's, if your voting for a corporate con-artist that works for the CFR while hiding behind the social facades of democratic and republican ideologies, then the joke is on you, and you have been reduced to fighting over whether it's better to be hung with a blue rope or a red rope.

And if you think liberals are clueless as to what is going on, and need to wake up, guess what, the joke is on you again.

But enough of that! When it becomes obvious to you, like when it's way too late, that the government has totally morphed from a two party crooks and con-artist pretend democracy puppet show, to some far worse right wing extremist evil, and you want to know who the guilty is, just go take a close look into the mirror.

Maybe our current president respects foreign sovereignty.

How often is Obama just out and out appalled by the GOP's complete lack of diplomacy and statesmanship?

He never comes out with statements like, "A snake in the grass would be envious of Rumsfeld's greed, subterfuge and cruelty."

Maybe resorting to small-minded attacks, with racial/species undertones just isn't Obama's style.

Glad you're here! This bastard makes me boil! Arrogant schmuck! I saw that documentary about him - "The Unknown Knowns." NEVER have I heard such pretzel logic. Such convoluted gobbledygook. He can sure talk a polluted ocean-full. No wonder so many have been swayed. You get lost in the wild, roaming, twisty-turny wording that takes you absolutely nowhere. But it's a lot of fancy-sounding phrases and allegedly-profound NONSENSE. He could have been the Jabberwock. The chapter in "Alice in Wonderland" could have been "rummywocky." Schmuck.

Ironically, he's one of the very few in that den of PNAC iniquity who actually, astoundingly, DID wear his country's uniform. He actually did serve. HOWEVER, that was - for him - luckily-timed. He served in the military conveniently BETWEEN wars. I think it was between Korea and Vietnam that his tour of duty was. So yeah, he served, but he never saw combat. Never put his ass in harm's way. Never got his hands dirty. How nice for him. So he still never understood what war is. Never lost any comrades in the foxhole or the tank, never got shot at. Never faced what he sent thousands of our boys and girls, our sons and daughters, our most precious treasures, over to that hell hole to face. So he's still as much of a candy-ass and a fop and a pussy and a chickenhawk as any of 'em, in my opinion.

Pardon my coarse language. But considering the subject, I think he's earned it. AND worse!

watching and listening to these criminals for 34 years , since Reagen raised his right hand .
I remember life before Reagen and I've seen this country going more and more authoritarian , anti democratic ,
Theocratic , and Fascist . I think we are seeing the death of democratic government here .
Unless there is an up rising by the millions on the streets I see no hope .

If you aren't deliberately pissing off the entire world, to drive defense sales, he sees it as a 'failure' of diplomacy.

Rumsfeld is a warmaker. He cannot recognize the efforts of, or purpose for peace. He cannot profit from it, therefore it is 'wrong' to him.
