Several years ago, I went to a Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. I attended as many talks as I could. I wasn't going to go to Wheaton's talk, but I did because there weren't any others that I was interested in (or paid for) at that time.

As it turned out, the time I spent listening to Will Wheaton was the highlight of the convention. He rocks.

More about me:
Yeah, I'm a Trekkie. I've been a member of the Star Trek BBS since September, 2001. I had been there a week when the planes hit the WTC. I feel like I am with "my people" at the conventions. We're less crazy than sports fans who go shirtless and paint their bodies at games in freezing temperatures.

I think what really got me involved was the nature of the writing and situations that I saw in the Original Star Trek series. Some of the stories were truly outstanding. I saw all the eps of Next Generation, with Will, and I realized that the many of those episodes were also well worth watching. Like any series, there will be some losers, but, I really enjoyed watching those shows.. And you really did get a good cross section of many kinds of sci fi themes. Oh, and being a Trekkie, if one really watches the shows, makes a lot more sense to me, then freezing at a football game..

I still can watch over and over. I just finished all of DS 9 and have started on the original series.
I still think it is superior to most other shows out there because it has always used the SciFi to look at very important issues.
My favorite is the Next Generation group, favorite episode/movie was Tin Man/ First Contact.
OK, was bullied also, but found my own things that I like.

Great Job Will!!!

in a Methodist town. . .so I was accepted by no one.

The nerds didn't want me around because I was a "brain dead jock" even though I had one of the highest GPAs in the class. The jocks didn't want me around because I was an egghead, even though I was one of the biggest and strongest guys on the football and wrestling team.

You want to know about bullying. . .walk a mile in my shoes.
