"An Albuquerque woman was attacked in her home and her family's U.S. citizenship papers were torn up by a man who incorrectly believed that she was Muslim.
Albuquerque's KRQE Channel 13 reported that, ironically, the woman and her family are Catholic Iraqis who fled that country six years ago to escape religious persecution. They told KRQE that they never expected this to happen to them in their adopted homeland.
Around midday last week, Seham Jaber was home alone when the doorbell rang. Thinking it was her husband, she opened the door without looking, only to be attacked by a man wearing a mask and gloves. The man punched her face and body and shouted anti-Muslim epithets, she said."

(13,920 posts)At a guess, we have a fundamentalist evangelical on our hands.
See, they love and resent that the US has 22% Catholics and 2% LDS, because without them we would only be about 49% Christian, and that would put them in a terrible quandary of not being able to claim to be the majority. But there are an awful lot of books circulating in the Fundamentalist evangelical world about how LDS and "Mary worshipers" are cults. They bear no love for Catholics except when they are politically helpful. They may have publicly patched things up, but theres a lot of "Christians" who aren't really much different in their belief structure than their white hooded forebears who burned crosses on the lawns of catholic churches (along with their more widely known exploits).
