Hard to believe anyone would reject this cuddly blorper, but thats just what Harry the Pygmy Hippos mother did, so keepers at a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa raised him by hand round the clock. Looks like he has an effective way of telling you when its time for a feeding, too.

(36,943 posts)Regular hippo babies are small too, but they get a LOT bigger than pygmy hippos.

(15,189 posts)But if the mother rejects it, it could have a medical problem. Like the Polar Bear not that long ago, that was abandoned by his mother, then at the age of 2, I think, he died one day.
But the tiny Hippo is cute.
