Natural gas fields off the coast of Gaza (gotta do some ethnic cleansing of Palestinians).
Shale gas deposits in eastern Ukraine (Support the illegal junta. Bring 'em cookies.)
Defending Erbil from ISIS (ExxonMobil) http://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/oil-erbil
And now we've fallen out of love with Maliki. If he's not careful he'll end up like Gaddafi, who displeased the almighty US by wanting to put the African continent on the gold Dinar instead of the PETRODOLLAR. Tsk tsk... Oh, wait...it was a humanitarian intervention. Yeah, that's it.
It boggles the mind.
