“...It is time for us to get suited and booted and kick their you-know-whats out of office,” he said. “We’ve got the power — they don’t. We’re trying to figure out how this man, that man, the old man — the Man, the Man, the Man up there on his iPad who don’t care what we have to say. How do we get him out? We vote him out! We recall him out!”

The young man added that the white community has “been thinking for too long, that black people don’t love each other — that me and this brother,” he said, pointing to a fellow attendee, “can’t go out there and peacefully protest for our rights. But guess what? It happened, and it’s not going to stop. If we don’t get justice, young people are going to continue to stand up.”

“We’re not fighting each other anymore, that stuff is dead,” he said. “We’re fighting them, because they’ve been fighting us. And we won’t take it. We’re fired up! We’re fed up! We’re young! We’re strong!”

“So mayor,” he concluded, “you better enjoy that seat, because November is coming up, and you are out!”

I have been looking for this with anticipation for many years now. It's past time for all voices to be heard in America.

Some of it was hard to make out. Yet the message from this young man was clear. They need to make their voices heard at the voting booths.

Three cheers for the young man speaking, go for it and DON'T stop. Funny how most of the commentators are saying this is based on RACE, well DUH!, it was a WHITE cop that MURDERED a young man, it was a WHITE NOISE (news) agency that reported the Character Smear on the young man, it was a WHITE POLICE CHIEF that LIED about the young man and tried to use HIS power of office to sway the (FOFL media, from the story. It was the WHITE establishment that RUSHED to judgement withOUT the FACTS to be the Judge ,Jury and they succeeded as the Executioner of a young man, with OUT due process of the LAW.

Now the WHITE, RACIST and Fear and Hate mongers are once again looking at just THEIR side and ignoring the FACTS, because one MAN stands up and says lets TAKE OVER we have the PEOPLE and the POWER and that scares the hell out of the RACIST WHITE TRASH republican COWARDLY Citizens and Americans.

So what do you have to say about the police response in Ferguson? Any comments about that "power"? The white power that was thrown in the face of protesters over Michael's murder.

The police are sworn to serve and protect all the citizens, not a select few. I do believe that they fell short here. Ya think the police and the council and Governor et all were not guilty of threatening their citizens and using and abusing their power? Maybe they should get an education and use their brains.

he is supposed to serve are speaking demonstrates the obnoxiously disrespectful attitude the white establishment has toward the Ferguson citizens:

I love to see the young people fired up for civic action like this--and clearly with a sophisticated awareness of the implications of everything they see! If this young man is old enough, maybe he should run for office. He certainly has the spirit for it.

We need this spirit with all the people who feel disenfranchised, not just from those who haven't suffered as much as AA's, but everyone. The status quo will continue if we don't vote. Giving up is not an option.

18. I think that they should forget about November

its almost October and they still havent confirmed whether they have even registered sufficient numbers of voters for a recall, let alone collected the signatures. Or fielded candidates.

If they miss November, and we are in the new year, the local elections in Ferguson are due in April, 2015 anyway. A recall probably wouldnt amount to much in those circumstances.

You can bet your bottom dollar that white turnout will be higher next year as well. Personally, I would use every day of that runup to next years elections to register everyone that moves and make sure I had ways of getting them to vote on polling day.

The left seems to have a problem transitioning from the "I'm angry" phase to the "lets do something about it" phase (eg, Occupy). Ultimately its a democracy, and if you want to change the beast you'd better start fielding candidates.

I have also been waiting for all of us to realize WE do have the power! We need to start to flex it and hold on because they are going to fight back out of fear. Fear of losing what they have worked so long to keep, namely control of US!
