neutrality," yet the FCC is authorizing tiers of service. So, apparently, he's figured out some semantic loophole.

And, yes, the FCC will probably ignore the public. The telecommunications companies have lobbyists and mega-law firms attending rule making hearings. The public has cardboard signs, not even at the hearings. Besides that, Wheeler and most of the lawyers in the FCC are former lobbyists who will soon exit the revolving door. Do the math.

Exactly! I can't count how many petition's I've signed for many issues & I don't think that even one has went in our favor.... They could care less what we think or have to say... When this goes into effect I'm canceling all my service's......

to get your name, address and email address. I am sure you've noticed that, once you "sign" an online petition, you start get emails asking you to donate or whatever.

As far as the President, Senators and Reps, they KNOW what we want. It's no mystery.

Our Constitutional rights, no games, just our rights
Clean elections
People in office, including heading federal agencies, who actually represent voters and the general public, not lobbyists
Peace
Drinkable water
Breathable air
Jobs
Safe working conditions and fairness to employees.
Protection from retaliation if we want to unionize
Affordable, safe housing
Affordable, good education
Did I mention jobs?
A fair, progressive system of taxation
Maybe a couple of frills, like some safe, well maintained national parks (built originally to help railroads sell tickets).
Oh, and jobs.

See? It's not a secret.

Hmm. Maybe I will try this as an OP.

First, I want to make sure my list of what most people want is complete. So, I started this thread so I could get suggestions.

Once that is done, maybe I will start another thread with the full idea that they already know what we want, so what do we REALLY do that pries it out of them.

Chairman Wheeler... Our nation seems resigned to the ideas of everything we depend on being controlled (throttled) by some larger entity. It's we (wee) citizens who supply all the infrastructure we're controlled with - while those doing said controlling profit from the avenues we've so generously provided. Sorta like being generous enough to braid our own noose.
We PAY for TV reception - and STILL have to watch ads on top of those monthly charges. I'm sure those purveyors are JUST eeking by.
I'm surprised the electric and gas companies don't lay on a hefty surcharge just for being "nice guys" - Heh - maybe they DO already - hidden in the myriad cumulative charges that defy interpretation!
Right now I hand out FIFTY bucks a month for shitty internet service. I am NOT exaggerating when I say it's JUST a small step above dialup speeds. No compensation or apologies when it's down or slower than molasses. Just "Hey! You're lucky we're here for you - most the time.
NOW...... You and those you serve (which AIN'T we public citizens!) want to add yet one more layer (bottleneck) for us to endure or pay to avoid. Do not these gluttonous entities bleed enough from us??? We realize the telecoms have lofted you to the FCC Chairman's perch, so it's grueling evident you're bound and beholden to judging in THEIR gluttonous interests. But know this...... there's a wave of revolution gaining momentum. And the eventual repercussions, I predict, will SMASH these soulless behemoths as once happened with Ma Bell - maybe even MORE dramatically than what happened then.
The TC act of 1934 ought to apply here and you know it. The only "throttling" that should be tolerated is that like I endure now - shitty overall service from the lame provider I'm forced to deal with.
