He was being completely compliant with the cop's orders, and he was still killed by that asshole pig. Whatever happened to the cops responsible for this death?

(17,997 posts)But walked. Fired. But, as little justice as it is, city council members were recalled, the guy that called the cops was fired and some other good changes were made in Fullerton
This was very well publicized back in 2011 and was a big part of the oct22 protests.

(1,254 posts)the older you get, when more years are behind you than in front of you, you start to wonder what is waiting for you after you pass. There will be many DAYS to come when this prays upon the mind of those cops.....is there a God and is there a judgment day of some sort.

(50,983 posts)And these religious fundamentalists claim there is a hell. Do they really think some sky god would punish this sick homeless man after death, re-punish him after the torture he endured?
These cops should pay.

(31,261 posts)I met a woman who was incensed that she wasn't allowed to wear her cross necklace in certain places...no, she couldn't name those places....but when the conversation later turned to the children from Central America fleeing violence and sanctuary her, she was furious that they were here and wanted them turned away at the border. That kind of Christian.

(7,759 posts)come together not matter what there race an develop a united front with community leaders like Rev. Al and some media types who are really on the side of the victims. We can't just sit back and allow this to continue to happen to anyone.
I hear and see a lot of comments from whites who think they are immune to this kind of treatment from law enforcement criticize Sharpton and Rev Jackson for always showing up when this stuff happens to blacks. Most of the time they are asked to show up by the families of the victims. If white victims would ask them, I am certain they would show up for them also. Jackson especially was a force for poor people, white or black, when he ran for President and as head of the Rainbow Coalition.
There is great force in numbers and society lends more credibility to charges of police brutality when whites are involved...sad but true.,

(8,267 posts)Those corpulent cops took his life. They interacted with him like he was a POS. And, no charges.
We are all vulnerable to the militarized police. If we stand together, we can oppose them AND oppose racism.

(65 posts)In general I have found that those who are selected to be a policeman or in many cases those who select to want to be one, are in many ways some of the most brain damaged among us.
By brain damaged I mean they lack almost no empathy for others, they live in an authoritarian myopic world and their IQ's are at best marginal.
In the past few years I've made it a point to avoid them in any way possible
I'm white and upper middle class and well educated and have the means to avoid them
God help others not so lucky
I hate to sound as a broken record but until we take a good serious look at the government and the monster it created; the largest military machine on earth that vacuums up wealth and turns it into waste through its violent authoritarian actions worldwide all will be lost and this mans needless death will simply be a footnote to the main chapters written on a daily basis in the blood of those we see as 'the other'
To paraphrase Ghandi "We can judge a country by the way it treats its animals"
"We can judge what a country itself becomes by the way its own government and military treats other countries rights as free people"

If all five of those murdering officers are not incarcerated of many years, then there is no justice in this Country.
This is the video that all Americans must see.

(39,215 posts)any other brown race. Don't be disabled. Don't be homeless. In fact don't go shopping in a WalMart store in the children's toy section, don't play in the park with a gun. In fact if you are not white don't be anything.
This is not the America I grew up in and it is not an America that I can support without some very big reservations.

(39,215 posts)say homeless I include everyone who is homeless.
I am also assuming that somewhere there must be some good police forces but it is getting harder and harder to believe that. They must start standing up against this if they exist. When I was growing up it was understood that if your friend committed a crime and you were there you were also guilty. This applies to police today.

(4,458 posts)behavior out of Fear? Don't go out after dark? Stay home more instead of going out and enjoying life-movies, dinner, shopping, walks with your dog etc?
At some point there seems there might just be an economic impact.
It's no longer a matter of "Don't do anything wrong and you have nothing to worry about".
America is getting a bad case of PTSD over these sadistic psychopaths.
