This Union Chief and many other like in NYC, Ferguson, speak the same way. They think they are GOD. They don't use their brains. just guns. I hope the people of Cleveland get rid of this union chief. He is most troubling. With his words, we now know why it shoot first and ask questions later. LIE about the real facts.

The whole situation by the Cleveland cops was wrong. No smart cop would drive right up beside a guy with a gun. Where are the people of Cleveland, they should be outraged by the cops actions. Why are there any sports being played in Cleveland or OH. It is a hot bed of radicals, not thinkers who are running the communities and the state. It is of course GOP controlled.

I wish the Cleveland Browns would tell him to f**K off.

Wed Dec 17, 2014, 12:02 PM
Dec 2014

The answer is the LAW. There is a loophole...escape clause if you may, in the law called "Defense of Life....."Officer-involved shootings happen extremely quickly. Usually, the point from where the officer believes he has to use deadly force to the point where he uses deadly force — where he pulls the trigger — is about two seconds." That can make it much harder for investigators to decide whether or not the officer was reasonable in thinking he had to shoot."

The flaw is that it doesn't matter what we think, the law take precedence and current law says what MATTERS is what the officer was thinking when he used lethal force. All a police officer has to say is....I feared for my life. In those seconds before they killed this young boy, the officers can claim they believed the weapon was real and they feared for their lives. We need to understand WHY this is happening....bad law give police a defense that helps them escape prosecution. Then they are either disciplined, fired and victims are left to file civil suits because they find no justice through the criminal court system.

Tue Dec 16, 2014, 12:56 PM
Dec 2014

He is given a position of Authority, and if HE was properly trained he would have known that these so called officers that are to serve and protect, should have driven up ON the street and not on the grass, they would have assessed the situation prior to firing a gun, they did not do this.

They should have been PROPERLY trained that you do not use deadly force until the last of all options have been used and if they had been PROPERLY trained to get out of the car and they should have said "drop the whatever item the person has in there hand" from thirty or forty feet on the street corner or in a store isle, just like the human being who was murdered in the Wal Mart in another OHIO city, they did not do that.

These incidents of death and what police are and have been doing is "shoot first and then ask questions later", just like vigilantes do.
In all the current appearances they have become de-facto judge, jury and in some cases executioner

When I watched the interview and he basically said that, heads I win and tails you lose mentality.
I knew from that moment forward that to get an apology from someone in law enforcement or the lack there-of to shoot first and ask questions later, shows that he has no compassion, your guilty and you have to prove your innocence even if you did nothing wrong.
The people that have been murdered in Ohio, what were they doing wrong, no one in law enforcement in that state has answered this question because they have NO answer, except you had better do as we tell you or you will face the consequences.
There supposed training tactic and procedures is on its face nothing more than confrontation.
In both of the deaths that have gained attention, you never hear them say, Police put down the whatever (play gun) and kick it over to them, not once.
And since the grand jury is rigged no wonder no one respects or thinks there is transparency in the laws and the law enforcement

His length of tenure was second only to that of William H.Parker. As chief of police, he took a hardline, aggressive, paramilitary approach to law enforcement. Gates is credited with the creation of SWAT teams and DARE.[4] After the Rodney King beating and the riots afterward, Gates resigned from the police department.

americans against the tea party FB page had a link yesterday to a texas open carry guy who was illegally detained by the local officers. A comment in his youtube video of this event advises that because the officers expressed disdain for this person(ie, "Im sick of you people&quot this was motive for civil rights violations. Not that I dont love angst for open carry people, but this was gold.

There is another video of an iraq war veteran refusing to get on the ground -at gun point- after cops pulled his friend over for driving erratically. Talk about courage. This guy is even brown skinned.

so many videos of cops acting like bullies, abusing their power, acting illegally. Fuck those guys. I know a TON of really good cops. Officers who dont get all wound up over nothing, but are still very much always on guard and ready to defend themselves.

If they had NO union, cops'd be even worse-because they'd be paid less, have shittier working conditions, and probably no pensions.

What they should get is what most union workers have...the right to strike.

If they had that, I think they'd despise the rest of the human race a lot less.

Sometimes they deign to call him a young man. He was a 12 year old sixth grader. Still playing with toys. It is much easier to demonize a child that you killed while he was playing with his toy if he is a big scary black savage. Easier to say the parenting of this child was suspect, and deserving of a national conversation, than the parenting of a savage unsocialized wolf-child roaming free and killing four people in a drunken display of entitlement.
They need to be taught that the only authority they have is what we loan to them, under the provisos that it be used judiciously. This is the time where our local power matters, if these thugs are not removed from their positions, then we vote every single one of their enablers out of office.

42. Legendary SUPERCOP, James Simone, said the policeman acted properly.
Tue Dec 16, 2014, 02:56 PM
Dec 2014

Legendary Cleveland "Supercop," James Simone, who retired from the Cleveland Police force, watched a tape of the event and calls the shooting justified.

Simone was involved in many shootings during his career, and was himself shot and almost killed. In his late fifties he jumped into the frozen Cuyahoga River and saved a woman's life.

Supercop always taped his actions so that no one could lie about what happened. He was even known to sue the people who lied about him.

In the Tamir Rice shooting, the dispatcher gave incomplete information to the police officers, so the dispatcher should take some blame. The officer estimated Rice's age to be 20, so to constantly refer to him as a 12-year-old is kind of misleading.

The policeman who shot Tamir Rice was following guidelines; so blame the guidelines, the dispatcher, the system, Rice's parents, and maybe even the kid who was pointing a realistic gun at people in a public place in broad daylight.

It's "misleading" to keep referring to him as a 12 year old?

HE WAS A 12 YEAR OLD.

It sucks that the dispatcher gave misleading information, but that is why cops ought not be in a shoot first ask questions later mentality. Assessing the situation in front of them, rather than blindly going by what they've been told, would be a step in the right direction.

Also, SO WHAT if he had been 20. Same logic still applies.

No thanks.

Calling a 12 year old child a 12 year old child is accurate.
That cops shot a 12 year old child near a recreation center where children play everyday. Assuming a 12 year old playing in the park at the recreation center is a twenty year old man is absurd and shows that the person judging his age had extremely poor judgement and should have never been given a badge.

It does not matter what is inferred--no one is accusing them of WANTING to kill a 12 year old--but making excuses for what did actually happen only clears the way for more of these incidents to happen. Is it really acceptable for them to shoot to kill before they can tell they are shooting at a child? Regardless of what they had been told, are they not capable of assessing the situation on the ground with their own eyes before opening fire?

is that the cop rolled up and failed to assess the situation - he rolled up ready to shoot a black person - man or boy. This is easily demonstrated by the different way they treat white people with firearms. Cops also know they can't rely on dispatch to give them accurate information, either - ask any cop how many times dispatch's info has been correct.. Cops know to verify at the scene. This cop did not. He was ready to kill the moment he arrived.

"Supercop' braces for criticism; Suspect is 5th he has killed in 35-year career"

And did this Super Duper Double Special Legendary Magical Cop say anything about leaving the child fighting for his life for 4 f-ing minutes without bothering to administer first aid or call for help? Guess that's not in the Legendary Super Cop job description.

And yes, the officer had been deemed unfit for duty. His shooting performance was "dismal," according to a former supervisor, he was distracted on the job, weepy about a breakup with a girlfriend. Not the sort of fellow who should be allowed to handle a pair of pliers, much less a gun. Also not the sort I would trust to assess a 12 year old boy's age.

And I suspect even Legendary Super Cops take more than 2 seconds to process a car careening towards them out of the blue and shouting orders at them.

bullshit. So what if he was 20, the 2.0 seconds of interaction they had somehow justifies him being shot?

how many times can a person react to 'show me your hands" in 2 seconds? None. He wasnt even fully out of the car when he was shooting.

they drove up dangerously close to a 'person with a gun'. They created this super close life or death situation. There is ZERO way they could have had POSITIVE ID on a weapon in this scenario. They acted foolishly and killed a 12 year old kid.

and you are defending them. "guidelines" are not an excuse. Dispatchers are NOT law enforcement - to wit, anyone who has ever worked in and around law enforcement knows full well that, like any 'intel', it is often completely wrong.

Judging from the video, that child was told to drop the weapon. He went to do just that, pulling his toy gun from pocket or waistband, when he was murdered in cold blood.

I have looked repeatedly but am unable to find those first reports. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the first story was the truth.

Who are all of these people Tamir is aiming at? 1 passerby, he just mostly ignored, as he did the 911 caller in the gazebo, and he eventually left. In fact, there doesn't seem to be a deluge of people even at this park.

Also, why would you pull what seems to be 2-3 feet away from a suspected dangerous threat? Do I have to be a cop to know that's just a blatantly stupid idea and in no way part of proper tactics in dealing/negotiating with a supposedly armed suspect?

Are the yee-haw racist cousinhumpers online still going to tell me that Tim Loehmann told him "Hands on your head!!" THREE TIMES?? It proves that people only see what they want to see, as the elapsed time (giving the cops the benefit of the doubt) on the screen clock from the time they appear on the screen to the time they shot him in the chest was 3 seconds and some change. That means that they only had two seconds to reel off three (according to the report) "HANDS ON YOUR HEAD!" commands. NOT HAPPENING.

The kid looks like he's just confused as to what to do, which would likely happen if cops stormed up on you yelling random things and you're in your own little world, as a 12 year old likely would be.

Why are they just standing over him doing nothing?

I believe that they shouted the command from the car as driving up, through the pa system. But it wasn't hands up, it was drop the weapon. The bewildered Tamir walked up to the car, trying to drop his toy.

One of the passersby was a friend.

Tamir's sister was at the park, at a different area. When she got to the the scene, seeing her brother lying, bleeding on the ground, the cops cuffed her and threw her in the back of the car. When Mrs rice got there, they threatened her, telling her she would be put in the back of the car as well, if she didn't calm down.

Its a total lie anyway! Lets say that call came into the police and it was in the richest part of town, probably mostly white as well.

A white kid is there in the park with a toy or pellet gun. Can anyone honestly say the damn cops are going to roll up and toast that kid in two seconds flat??

BULLFUCKING SHIT!!!!! TOTAL DAMN LIE and everybody knows it!

Here is what Wikipedia says about the man who maintains that the police acted properly:

James Simone
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Simone, also known as "Supercop," was a patrolman with the Cleveland Division of Police with a history of involvement in high-profile incidents.

In more than 35 years as a police officer, he has shot 11 people in the line of duty, killing five of them.[1] He has been shot twice, stabbed, and hit by several cars.[1] He is also a mainstay on the department's list of officers making the most arrests and issuing the most citations.[2]

Simone's work has garnered him national media attention, including profiles on America's Most Wanted, Good Morning America, Eye to Eye with Connie Chung and Top Cops.[3] He has won the division's Medal of Valor,[4] and numerous awards from MADD for his high rate of DUI arrests.[3] Prior to his service for the City of Cleveland, Simone served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was credited with participating in taking out a North Vietnamese Army nest and was awarded a Bronze Star. He was also wounded and awarded a Purple Heart.

Someone here misrepresented his record.

I hope you find peace, but you are so off here it is downright scary.
Something does not quite ring true here . .
"I have voted for the most progressive Democrats on the ballot for years."
I really don't care what party you are with - this in non-partisan.
And don't put words in folks' mouths.
NO ONE HAS ATTACKED POLICE IN GENERAL - and you know it.
That child was murdered by police thugs.
To repeat I wish for you to find peace, but I am willing
to debate you on this issue in public at a time and place
of your choosing. I promise, no "ad hominems".

Apologies to all skinhead thugs with swastika tatoos...

without any orders or questions. He is the worst of the worst as a union representative. But we see them in NYC, MO and other places. These radical union chiefs cannot get a decent job.
