Propaganda and Manipulation: How mass media engineers and distorts our perceptions

Found this on Youtube and thought I would share it...it is 1.16 long but well worth the watch.

Published on Oct 20, 2013

This is a video on the psychology of propaganda. Prof. Kroth reviews five major techniques for how American mass media manipulates and twists the view Americans have of their world. The seriousness of the distortion, and our progressive loss of contact with reality is dramatic. We are increasingly living inside

2. That is not the theme of the video. It is theory. One that spawned a religion in Utah.

7. This is a spectacularly good lecture by an inspiring professor.

The fact that someone would attempt to belittle this piece, or Professor Kroft himself, doesn't just ring hollow, it reinforces the point of a superb presentation. I wish everyone would watch it. I plan to watch his other lectures on YouTube, starting with the aliens one, which strikes me as a very good topic for a psych professor.

8. That was my reaction too.

And I plan to watch more of what he has to say...he is a rational person without a doubt.

9. K&R

''The masses never revolt of their own accord, and they never revolt merely because they are oppressed. Indeed, so long as they are not permitted to have standards of comparison, they never even become aware that they are oppressed.'' ~George Orwell, 1984
