Some people have celiac (1 in 133 Americans), for others it is their choice. Period.

and it addresses Celiac disease (which is no where near a common as most people think), as well as genuine allergies and sensitivity.
"for others it is their choice. Period." - Yes it is absolutely their choice... you'll note no one was saying otherwise. In this case, however adding the "Period" to the end of your sentence makes you the smug one.

5. "no where near a common as most people think" - Did I not put the stat right there: 1 in 133 ?

You seem awfully sensitive for someone who posts flamebait about other peoples' personal, albeit trendy, diet choices.

Could be anti-anti-gluten sensitivity.

6. "Did I not put the stat right there: 1 in 133 ?" - You did.

The video addresses that as well. It states that many cases for Celiac Disease (CD) is misdiagnosed.

The prevalence of CD in the United States is unknown. The 1 in 133 stat is a guesstimate based on 2012 numbers... at a time when the rise of Gluten-free diet trends was at its peak. Why do you think that is?

2. It's simply not possible to get those

who are convinced all gluten is poison to watch something like this.

It's right up there with those who are totally convinced that the electro-magnetic waves from cell phone towers are causing them to be ill.

Those who may have doubts may watch it, however. Its for them that I posted this.

7. Why can't they think what they want?

What difference does it make to you?
Don't people have a right to think for themselves?
There probably is a video that disagrees with what you think that you won't watch.

8. "Why can't they think what they want?" - They can... but thats not at issue here.

People watch Fox News. The vast majority of members on DU understand that Fox News is not credible.
In that very same vein, there has been a massive and sudden push to get gluten free diets out there... in spite of very little scientific evidence to support them.

"There probably is a video that disagrees with what you think" - There's no doubt that they exist.
But, as I said before, this not at issue.

The real issue here is separating hype from fact... and truth from fiction.

There's plenty of disinformation out there for people to consume... so it is important to put out good factual information to dispute that disinformation.

People will still make up their minds, but at least now, they can do so, while being informed.

Exactly why should I care whether someone "really needs" to eat the way they are choosing to eat?

if you're on it by choice and not due to a medical condition. This too shall pass.
