I often have the sense on DU that many DUers have no concept of the horror of the Holocaust.

Many DUers just don't get it. There has never, ever, ever been anything so well organized, so brutal, so cruel, so horrific in the history of mankind that we know. And the horror was efficient and thorough and accomplished in a relatively short period of time.

Never again.

It makes Guantanamo look like a trifle although Guantanamo is shameful enough.

No crime has ever been so great.

The Holocaust denying troll posting all over DU simply exemplifies a lack of knowledge and bigotry, but others, they simply do not even understand. This OP is a Hollywood example. I would love to post some ACTUAL footage from YouTube just so some could really see the abject horror, as well as the comments from those viewing said videos because it also demonstrates how easy it would be to perpetrate this horror again.

my father use to say that unless you've seen it, Buchenwald in his case, you can never fully grasp it. Dad was usually a calm kind of guy, but one thing that would make him absolutely livid were holocaust deniers. He knew it happened. He was there. It left a deep impression on a young 20 something GI from Tennessee. To your point, we're losing our understanding as Dad's generation fades away, and mine has grown kids and grand kids. I fear that in the near future, it will be as remote to us as the Civil War. Never, ever forget my dad taught us

... some of the real actual documentary footage that I seen on HBO a couple nights ago, entitled "Night Will Fall." Look for it in the HBO listings. If you find it, make a note and watch it. DVD it to share with your friends and family. I'm telling you, "Night Will Fall" will change you.

... I never do, because they are so hateful about the silliest of things. This country is filled with sickos, as evidenced in the popularity of "American Sniper." And, boy do they love to spew it.

It is very defeating and exemplifies how anti-Semitism is still as popular as ever, no matter its form.

It was exactly what literally happened, the real people, no actors, no music or anything. Just the people and places.

The videos 'rebutting' it were so blatantly anti-semitic they could have written by Nazis. It struck me while watching that film is that the smears leveled at the UK and USA for being allied with Israel could well be that the thing both countries have in common is they took the greatest amount of Jewish refugees of any nation

I've seen too much of the 'bankster,' 'Zionist' and 'NWO' CT smears that links Israel, the UK and USA and money (which is the Jewish moneylenders and world conspiracy meme) to not recognize the Protocols.

Those who push these ought to think about they're enabling.

WW2 had been over for 6 years when I was born. Both my parents fought against the NAZIS in that war. I will never forget.
