“Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh argued on Monday that the National Weather Service (NWS) has been compromised politically, Media Matters reported.

“It’s been a horrible, horrible year for forecasts. And the reason is, if i can cut to the quick, the left has corrupted everything,” Limbaugh argued. “Just like the left has corrupted the ‘professoriate’ — the faculty at major institutions of higher learning — the left has populated all of these bureaucracies. The Department of Commerce runs the National Weather Service, and do not believe that they’re not politicized.”

I first heard him when he was on KFBK in Sacramento over 25 years ago. I was driving down the freeway and couldn't believe it. At the time I was struck by his delivery-it was pure hate and propaganda. There was no attempt to debate or engage the audience in an educational discourse. I wondered how someone like this could be blasting out over the air waves on a big radio station. How did he get there?
