(1,648 posts)But in less than a year the Ukrainian Conflict has costs more than 5,000 lives and many more injured souls, plus millions forced from their homes forever. We have to figure out how to stop this and other conflicts, at least much sooner than we see now.

(27,137 posts)...economically speaking, the US needs war to generate income for the industries we have left that can.
We make very little that the world needs now.
Nuclear reactors are being shoved down the people's throats, but they're resisting after Fukushima.
Jet airplanes are dropping from the skies.
GMOs are kicked out of Europe and China.
And Hollywood films are being hijacked by hackers and put online pretty much the day after release.
That leaves weapons as the only viable industry we have left.
Weapons of destruction.
So. The administration is promoting war. While some in Congress do as well.
Congress is controlled by Daddy Warbucks of Wall Street and listens only to the sounds of folding cash.
The SCOTUS says corporations have more rights than people do. They'd have to since corporations can't be executed or punished with prison time for murdering someone or stealing all their savings. Fines, the only punishment on offer, are factored into their overall business model as a ''cost of business.''
- The only real POWER that the people have is the kill switch. We're the ones that makes their world, work. For now......

(14,656 posts)recovering and scratch my head because indicators, housing starts, # applying for mortgages, laying off of bankers in the mortgage dept., the Baltic Dry Index, manipulated GDP and employment numbers, the number of citizens on SNAP and, and, and....regretably, some regard the MIC as the way out. A war would surely disguise (at least on the level most Americans are paying attention) our economic situation.
I don't think any one can argue that the U.S. is leading peace efforts....any where....unless I've been blinded by the media. So we must have war!!!

(6,419 posts)It seems like some "reporters" or whatever asking loaded question and the spokesperson handing them pretty well.
Some of the questions are obvious bullshit--one asks if people are being forced to stay in occupied eastern Ukraine, but people were evacuated from there just yesterday: http://www.ctvnews.ca/world/ukraine-pro-russian-rebels-evacuate-civilians-from-debaltseve-1.2223443
Can one of the fanbois or supporters of Putin's fascist government tell me:
-who the folks are asking these slanted questions? There's no info in the video
-what makes you so excited--just the fact that you get to hear slanted questions?
