“Generally a stun gun is usable where there is discretionary time during which the officer has to make a decision about the best course of action," he said. "If the facts are such that deadly force is immediately called for, a stun gun is not a suitable alternative.”

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't these things sold to the public as being alternatives to deadly force in situations where deadly force would have been the only other available option?

I would be scared also. Did you see how hard he hit the concrete? I want to know if he is okay.

The Penny Arcade used to or still does have a shock machine that you try and hang onto as the tingling gets more and more. It's not going to kill you to touch it, or hold it. If police had something like that in a baton and used on legs, or arms it wouldn't pose as much of a risk as tasering. It would probably make your leg collapse without harming your heart rhythm. But this man didn't deserve to be abused. What can a man of 70 do to 2 men in their 30's, and armed.
