IF for some strange quirky reason he makes it as a viable contender, I believe I will up and
move to a country far far away. I even have sons that live there, so I won't be a major decision that is flippant.
Thank God I haven't run into anyone who even thinks of Cruz running, but I do have some teabaggers in the family...that haven't figured out who he is yet. So who knows?

I simply love these people that are teabaggers, so we just don't discuss politics OR religion...lol

That's still way too close. And yes/no, they aren't free. Many are subject to their parent's ideologies and many are truly just "that way".

Fortunately lots of them will rebel eventually, just like the convent-schooled, and will become good liberals.

Cruz's candidacy serves a very useful purpose for the GOP.

Without Cruz in the race, the right-wing policies promoted by GOP "moderates" like Bush, Walker, and Christie would land on the conservative end of the spectrum, compared to those proposed by Democrats (which are already conservative).

Cruz will move the Overton window much further to the right, so his less extreme colleagues appear to be centrists.

I believe the GOP understands this very well, and secretly supports the role Cruz is playing, here.

Violations of the Code of Conduct are met with fines and a number of Reprimands leading to......burning in Hellfire.

"Liberty University has always attempted to maintain a conservative standard in its approach to the arts and entertainment. Current policy for movie viewing allows for attendance at theaters but prohibits viewing of movies rated "R", "NC-17" or "X". The penalty for viewing such movies is a reprimandable offense. It should be remembered that in no way is Liberty University endorsing the movie industry's rating system as appropriate or Christ-honoring. In addition, the Division of Student Affairs will continue teaching guidelines and principles to students related to all forms of entertainment. This would mean that many "PG-13" and some "PG" movies, although not prohibited by policy, may also be inappropriate.

Music
Philosophy, tastes and personal convictions concerning music vary greatly among our students. Liberty University endeavors to teach discernment in evaluating and selecting all music. It is Liberty's desire to maintain a music standard that is conducive to a healthy Christian atmosphere. Students should learn to choose music that honors the Savior and is in harmony with God's word. Music that is offensive (i.e., lewd lyrics, anti-Christian messages, etc.) to Liberty's Christian stand is not permitted."

Wonder what the penalization rate is for Liberty U students? My guess is rather low, and it's not tied to the punishment.
