Ted Cruz Has 'Zero Intention of Taking Any Obama Subsidy'

Published on 25 Mar 2015

In an interview, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said that the mainstream media is playing “gotcha games” when it comes to how he likely will have to become an Obamacare customer despite despising the law.

Funny, but I seem to recall that another Republican presidential candidate---wait, wait, please excuse my stupidity, it was a Republican vice-presidential candidate---who was obsessed with "gotcha" tactics by the lamestream media. Youbetcha I'm sorry for the confusion!

he makes 6 figures, of course he won't qualify for any subsidy, that's for people who have low incomes. Is he really that out of touch?

Cruz works less than half a year and makes $174K plus about $1 million in expense reimbursement. Of course they all have non-taxable political pacs for wealthy to excercise their free speech (bribes).

His wife is taking leave of absence to work for his campaign. Mostly likely to raise money from Wall Street since her employer is Goldman Sachs. And to top it off he doesn't provide people working in his campaign enough pay to afford health insurance.

I can't understand how these people get elected.

If he can't even handle this tiny issue, some would argue his signature 'cause', how is he even going to touch immigration, religion, 'the Constitution' which his foreign birth precludes from running for President <sarc>

Here's the fork

This is an example Ted Cruz and the guy asking him the questions trying to spin his decision to go on Obamacare after opposing the law. The thing about the subsidy issue is a way to muddy the water. Most likely the supporters of Ted Cruz are not aware that of how much money he makes as a Senator, or that as a result of his high pay he does not qualify for subsidies under Obamacare. As a result, saying he will not take subsidies makes him look good to his supporters.

In terms of him having to follow the law, it seems to me he could just refuse to be a part of the exchange and pay the penalty.

13. Since he is ineligible for subsidy, I applaud his restraint.

He'll come up smelling like a rose, anyway. His constituents don't care.

What I don't understand is why the health care he already gets for his family through being a Senator is insufficient.

But the media seems to care about the pittance that he gets for Obamacare.
