It would be number one issue. And it would be accepted to talk about it. Faux Noise would have a Mormon Marathon. They would use Mormon instead of black to not vote for him. With questions like: Is it safe to have a Mormon as President???? Are the Mormon's too uppity?????? How many first ladies will there be???? We here at Faux are not saying if these things are true, but it does make some wonder.

but this is PC run amok. It is not 'bad manners' to criticize someone for belonging to a cult.

The LDS church considers its living leader to be infallible, members are to hold no allegiance above him, and it operates according to secret doctrines that only elite members are supposed to know.

Like Scientology, it is a cult inspired by American science fiction... but from an earlier era.

Anyone who says they can do a decent job running the USA as a Mormon is being a Phony Moroni.

ALL religions are equally ridiculous. Admitting that you believe in invisible omnipotent beings should be an immediate disqualification.

IMO having a god concept in a religion isn't like having a living and supposedly infallible person giving orders.

In Post #1 yourout said it: Nobody on the Left or in the Democratic Party gives a rat's ass about Romney's faith. The ONLY people who do are in the GOP, and they're the same people O'Donnell & Bashir were ripping into: the GOP leadership, their allied extremist fundamentalist "Christian" crazies & most of all Mitt Romney, telling blatant lies & acting hypocritically in ignoring the gulf which separates the LDS Church from mainstream Christianity at they same time they are continually and repeatedly question Obama's religious faith.

Exactly!! O'Donnell's Rewrite was in response to Romney saying that the Obama administration's goal is to establish a Secular religion for America. Basically Romney was strongly implying that Obama is an atheist which is of course is a blatant lie. Romney gets a pass for his fear-mongering & suggesting that the President is an atheist. I was so disappointed w/ Stewart since the Washington Mall event & how he linked Fake News & MSNBC as equal--which is so not true. Now Jon is critical of Martin & Lawrence & feels Romney's religion should not ever be questioned. Due to my schedule I am not a frequent viewer of the Daily Show, & I wonder has Jon ever commented on the GOP endless lies about President Obama's religious background??
