In a sneery snarling fangs-bared lip-curled blood-shooting-from-the-eyes performance the likes of which we havent seen since Andrea Tantaros was forced to speak to a non-white person, Megyn Kelly of Fox News said that anyone who isnt praising hate-harpy Pam Geller for teaching us the true meaning of freedom of speech might as well be a goddam terrorist.
And I am not overstating this.
According to Kelly, Geller and her American Freedom Defense Initiative hate group worked very hard to give the lovely people in Texas a private event where they could do freedom things like draw funny pictures of the Prophet Muhammad. That is because freedoms just another word for the right to be a mouth-breathing moronic asshole with nothing better to do but draw racist cartoons in the company of other mouth-breathing moronic assholes as was promised in the Federalist Papers.
I mean, it doesnt say that in so many words, but thats the general idea if you read between the lines.
They were trying to make a point about intolerance by some in the Muslim world, Kelly snarled as she hated the entire world for forcing her to explain this to everyone because theyre so damned stupid and not smart and pretty like her. And about principles on which the USA is supposed to stand firm. Namely that, no matter how abhorrent one might find anothers words, in this country we defend their right to say them.

(1,893 posts)And it's all about ways to demonize the people whose countries you want to invade and conquer. And a key part of that strategy is to ignore the fact that Muslim anger is about a hell of a lot more than offensive images.

(2,884 posts)The abysmal stupidity of GW's war can not be a perpetual excuse for everything.
The comic Blair-Bush duo is not a licence to shoot cartoonists. Ever.
PS: I don't care about muslim anger. Or christian anger. Or hindu anger.
Believing in half baked medieval obscurantist books is NOT an excuse to use an AK47.

(1,893 posts)I pretty much know how the whole exchange is gonna go. And I'm not really interested in assisting someone who wants to parrot the hateful rhetoric of the neocon Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

(13,297 posts)Afterall, it sounds so thoughtful and important to the subject of free speech, according to their conversation. Well? Hmmmm?
Me thinks she loves to raise her voice about principles, but won't dare stand behind her comments. C'mon Kelly. Let's see how much you truly believe what you spout, or if you just want to pull in a few ratings points by running around in circles with one shoe nailed to the floor and your arms waving wildly -- going nowhere. As usual.

Apparently provocation for the sake of provocation is patriotism?
No wonder the abuse of free speech is being so hotly defended at Fox, serial free speech abuser that they are.
The good Catholic-only soldiers of Fox fighting the war on Christians and Christmas, while having have no idea what Catholicism is.

(42 posts)As long as the religion is Islam.
It's ok to insult Islam in a vile fashion, that's freedom of speech.
It's not ok to wish someone a Happy Holiday, that's a War on Christmas.
Got it.

(2,884 posts)Apparently, ISIS has planted 73 agents to partcipate in shootings of what they don't like in the US.
That would tend to show that, even if I am indifferent to all religions, one is more dangerous than others.

(14,153 posts)They can't even see their own hypocrisy. And the example you used reveals how great that hypocrisy as the case she defends is going out of there way to knowingly insult a religion, compared to the case of an attempt of avoiding offending other religions.
Lets have a drawing contest, a caricature contest on Megyn Kelly. I've certainly never found her good looking. Like Dorian Grey, I think inner ugliness shows in the exterior. Its not about the features, or symmetry, or hair colour..its something behind the eyes, the way they set their jaw, lack of empathy etc.. We could hold this contest and have a big display. Is it hate speech? You betcha. Will it incite Megyn and Fox News? Probably. But that's ok, because its protected free speech.

(12,882 posts)Even if this incident ended before a winning cartoon could be recognized, there must surely have been some entries ready to go. PLEASE - PLEASE show some of them so we can decide the degree of free speech we are being denied. Can't you show a selection of these images so that we faithful can better understand the liberty Ms Geller is the defender of. You owe this to her and those who bravely faced the looming Muslim threat that clouds our daily lives.

The deaths that occurred were only collateral damage. The whole FOX organization needs to be swept away. I can't stand to even look at that creature called ''Megan Kelly''. yuk.
