17. And that's why candidates lose, because of predetermination espoused by the media, buying into it
is both foolish & deadly. Shall we empower those who seek to disempower people, or those who represent our values with everything they've got?

5. What were the odds
of a 2-term Obama presidency? Bernie is really on the issues, the ones that ordinary Americans care about. Like shining a light on the "too big to fail" nonsense.

8. Oh damn!
That was a great video. I'm going to bookmark it to keep in my sharing scrapbook if you will. I looked up the Cantor race as I am not familiar with the particulars and saw that he was beaten by a tea party crazy. But there is a takeaway. A lot of this sounds very familiar.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/11/us/politics/eric-cantor-loses-gop-primary.html?_r=0 A huge difference in campaign funds: Cantor $2Million vs Brat $200,000 Brat targeted the base with anti-immigration being his banner. Being racist is essential to being a tea party Republican, but the takeaway is that the base is important to winning a primary. He ran against establishment Washington: In victory, Mr. Brat said that his candidacy had resonated with voters who believed that politics had been dumbed down by partisan infighting.
“The American people want to pay attention to serious ideas again,” Mr. Brat said, speaking on Fox News. “Our founding was built by people who were political philosophers, and we need to get back to that, away from this kind of cheap political rhetoric of right and left.” MONEY was not the deciding factor in the race: Republicans were so sure that Mr. Cantor would win that most party leaders had been watching for how broad his victory would be.
It shows that a politician who fires up the base CAN win. People on left and right are sick to death of the establishment. And Cenk is right, breaking up the banks, while not currently a political possibility, is what many Americans would favor. It only highlights how little people are actually represented in this country and could be a strong plank in his political campaign. People are still starving for change! |

9. I like Bernie Sanders but,
I like Hillary better. Bernie has been a great senator but Hillary was a First Lady, a senator, and the Secretary of State.
The Repugs have denigrated her and made up lies as in the recent book "Clinton Cash". This lowlife regurgitates all of the lies that the Repugs have created. The Clintons have always been for working families. During Bill Clinton's terms he attempted to address all of his campaign promises, but he also had major problems with the repubs. The witch hunts and the nasty efforts of the repugs kept him form doing far more for the country. This also happened to Barack Obama but to a greater extent. Boner told the country that the repugs would not pass any of his initiatives and fought him to the determent of the country. Hillary is the only Democratic candidate with the experience, knowledge, and temperament for the job. Why would we elect any one else. I see a lot of hate professed on this web site, I believe most are trolls, but there are some that tell us they are liberals or progressives. They may be, but I think they are blue dogs. Agree on not this is my opinion. I have been around for presidential elections since 1960 and if we elect a repub, all social programs will dissapear or be privatized. Wall street needs more profits. |

15. You Know What's Really Powerful? Being Right!
Awesome, Cenk! K & R! To see just how powerful and awesome Bernie is, you just have to see how Hillary is nervously shifting her positions on the the issues to seem even more populist, and more to the left of what she actually is. While Bernie's on the campaign trail, back in Washington, he is actually walking the walk, as he has done for the past 30 years. Go Bernie!

16. Sanders/We the People must take on Obama as well as Clinton.
The reason that I voted for Obama was for financial reform.
