(7,911 posts)Of course, showing at real-life speed would probably be too boring for most people.
About 30 years ago I got to sit in the cockpit for a daylight approach to LAX in a small company jet. A fantastic experience.

(2,256 posts)Video was great! But that bugged me. Those four red lights you see to the left of the runway should not be all red. "If you're red, you're dead". The approach glide slope should've been two red and two white.

(541 posts)I'm not a pilot, but flew at night with a pilot friend of mine and he flew the approach so that the VASIs or PAPI's would be two red. Two white. You're alright. !???
A little OT, but I Also love the dark area between Thousand Oaks and Malibu on this approach... As a huge fan of the show MASH, I believe this approach flies right over Malibu Creek State Park, where the exteriors of the 4077th for the TV show (and movie) were shot. Great video!

(34,582 posts)PAPI's are four in a line. VASI's are not used very much anymore.

(41,831 posts)geeze, where is the taxiing after they land...? And while that green imaging stuff on the screen is cool it blocks out the beauty of LOS ANGELES from the air.

(18,124 posts)but only over Watts, was there any extraneous noise in video outside of music. Just coincidental, I assume.
