Would you change?

If you knew that you would die today
If you saw the face of God and Love
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you knew that love can break your heart
When you're down so low you cannot fall
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad how good does it need to get?
How many losses how much regret?
What chain reaction
What cause and effect
Makes you turn around
Makes you try to explain
Makes you forgive and forget
Makes you change
Makes you change

If you knew that you would be alone
Knowing right being wrong
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you knew that you would find a truth
That brings a pain that can't be soothed
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad how good does it need to get?
How many losses how much regret?
What chain reaction
What cause and effect
Makes you turn around
Makes you try to explain
Makes you forgive and forget
Makes you change
Makes you change

Are you so upright you can't be bent
if it comes to blows
Are you so sure you won't be crawling
If not for the good why risk falling
Why risk falling

If everything you think you know
Makes your life unbearable
Would you change?
Would you change?
If you'd broken every rule and vow
And hard times come to bring you down
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that you would die today
If you saw the face of God and Love
Would you change?
Would you change?

But as a lifelong atheist I disagree with the presumption that God is a requirement for change.

However, I sincerely believe that this post is heartfelt and meaningful. Who am I to criticize it because it mentions God?

So I support it.

My best to you for a thoughtful post.

on edit: I never heard of Tracy Chapman before this post. But she reminds me a bit of James Taylor. Good music sung from the heart. A particular good video, too.

My best to you.

think we are all connected in this amazing thing we call life, quantum physics proves that. The miracle of your awareness is not a random occurrence in a supposition of random occurrences that make us connect on a conscious level

God...... is you, and me and all the assistance that you have to make the connections you have in this short time we have..... we are all one

And if ever wonder why poetry and music does that to us ...... its spirtual that connects us to each other.

Its not religion its a construct to of the eternity of the universe and why you are here to learn.

Except religion, which I have little room for. Methodological naturalism has given humankind all it needs for knowledge. All the rest, although some deserves some respect, none deserves any respect if it does not align with what the universe tells us. And the universe is what it is. And humans have achieved huge advancements on what the universe says in the past few centuries.

I will leave it there.

My best to you.
