(81,282 posts)I like them BOTH. If he's the one who gets the nomination, I will NOT stay home that November and pout just because I wanted the first qualified capable woman EVER to be presiding in the Oval Office for the first time in what will be not five, not ten, but FORTY-FIVE presidencies, and I didn't get my way. I will be there for Bernie's campaign with all my heart and soul and enthusiasm and whatever's left in my wallet!

(53,661 posts)I find HRC to be inspirational, her entire life has been about women and children. The GOP hate her like no one else and have paid the media to teach that hatred in every possible way. Most of it is dishonest.
And as far as getting the first woman president, I think it is very important. Because I don't believe there will be peace and justice on this planet until half the population gets their rights. It crosses oceans and ethnicities but the oppression of minority and indigent peoples is also just as essential.
Bernie is speaking from a 'first world' view that some feel very comfortable with. HRC and Obama didn't get respect at home, they have much more respect abroad, from first and third world peoples.
I am not a blind partisan to any one Democrat and bristle at the charges made that those who support HRC are. I am also not blind to the terrible injustices being perpertrated on women and POC and the poor, elderly and disabled.
I also see the same hatred by the same sourcres directed at her as I have seen with Obama. I'll vote for either of these fine people running to carry the banner of the Democratic Party, without any sense of holding back. I know what the GOP plans.

2. Until a few weeks ago, people didn't know Bernie Sanders
3. As Sanders becomes known his poll numbers will rise and personal attacks (his age) can be expected -

(62,325 posts)the nonsensical claims that any ELECTED official in this country is UNELECTABLE, make zero sense. Bernie Sanders is eminently electable as he proven over the course DECADES. I would like to know who are these people who make such ridiculous claims? I sure hope no one is paying them for that nonsense.
Bernie definitely can win, because he truly speaks for the people, on almost every issue. AND he has voted that way for his entire political career.
