I am sending money tomorrow. I wish it could be a million dollars. But, we have some time on our side and if Bernie ends up raising half the money Hillary does he will win the nomination.

I'll conjure up at least $50 to stoke "The Bern"!

(62,325 posts)months since Jan, when Hillary according to DU was at over 80% in every poll which were posted on a regular basis here.
Bernie is not right behind her with 33%, a rise from a few days ago even. Iow, as soon as people get to know him, his poll numbers go up.
At this rate he will win NH easily. Such a fast rise in polls shows how people are paying attention now. He is packing, over packing actually, venues everywhere he goes. Denver the next venue is already booked out for over 2,000 people, with almost double that wanting to get in.
I am supporting the person who speaks for me and nearly everyone I know, on almost every important issue. The candidate we wished we had had in the early 2,000s. Who voted the way we had hope all Dems would vote back then and were so disappointed when they did not.

totodeinhere
(13,688 posts)she is only up by ten points? Remember 1968 when Eugene McCarthy lost to LBJ 42% to 49% in the NH primary? Though he lost his showing was considered strong enough that he forced LBJ from the race. History may repeat itself. If Bernie can stay within striking distance of Clinton like he is now that just might be the straw that broke the camel's back and force Clinton from the race.

(12,904 posts)Ya'll...my husband was a longtime, if not all that active, Republican until 2008. I was able to get him to vote for President Obama both times, but I was kind of worried about this election cycle. I am pretty sure he would vote for any Democratic candidate over anyone in the Republican clown car; but, imagine my surprise when he told me a couple of days ago that he is really excited about...
Bernie Sanders!
I made sure that he knew that Sanders was a democratic socialist candidate, and what that meant, and that the smear machine would soon be kicking into high gear. He promised me that he would not be swayed solely by media reports, and that he would perform his due diligence on his preferred candidate.
He has come so far in such a short time! I am really proud of him.
I really like the second poster. Can I print a copy for my husband?

(62,325 posts)site and see if they say anything about not doing so. Most people are so excited about Bernie they are volunteering their talents and time and money to make sure he wins this election. Artists, musicians et al.
Sounds like he has come a long way from Repub to Bernie. Once he got on the right track it seems he learned very fast.

(10,538 posts)as the case may be. We could immediately fix most of the problems facing our nation. Publicly Funded Elections would take care of the root cause of our country's problems by itself. Bernie is right, it will take millions of dedicated supporters. I will do my part to help!

(2,322 posts)...otherwise I won't vote for him. Everyone really has to understand that. If it's not Him and/or Her vs. the GOP, then I'm not interested. In fact, I'm only disgusted when I see posts presenting such info titled like this. Because I can't support, approve, like or feel anything but anger when I see us baiting, mocking or otherwise fighting among ourselves.
The primaries are months away, the election even farther away than that. Remember Howard Dean? He looked to be well on his way, and then the bottom dropped out and that was that. The same could happen to either of these candidates. Also illness or death or a third dark horse appearing and taking the vote away from both of them.
No one can predict what will happen in the long run. What we can predict is that the more we act like trolls and sneering children towards each other, crowing over such victories as if to say "nah-nah, my candidate is more popular than yours!"...the less united will be when it comes to winning against the real bullies. The ones we must stand united against.
Oh, and there's one other thing we can predict: that acting this way isn't going to help us change anyone's mind or vote. If we want someone to change their mind and vote for our candidate, then courtesy and rational debate will do it. Sneering at them won't. So. Please. Just stop.
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)happening now within the party. As Cenk says, they are sitting in their bubbles, snickering at what they view as the 'little people' getting all excited over Bernie, which is just fine, they give us permission to have a 'little fling'!! Really Ax? And then they think we will come running back to them, when Bernie 'leaves town'!
I have news for them. THOSE days are OVER. They will see a jump in membership soon as people sign up ONLY to vote for Bernie. With their usual lack of awareness they are likely to assume that THEIR tactics are working.
But if Bernie does 'leave town, as Axelrod snickered, guess what, a whole lot of people are going to be going with him.
His attitude is so condescending and always was. He still doesn't get what Cenk clearly does, that people decided to hold their noses because of BUSH and because back then they DID believe that if they got rid of Repubs by any means, even voting for Blue Dogs, they could accomplish that.
Now times are very different. We've seen it all play out and as Cenk said the anger that has boiled up in the people is intense.
And like Cenk, I can't wait to see their faces when Bernie wins.

(3,544 posts)I got my wife on my Bernie train a few weeks ago. Bernie is the real thing. That's at least 2 votes swayed the other way.
People are sick and tired of the bullshit politics in Washington. It's time to make a change. Big time. Get these Plutocrats out and elect politicians that are "FOR THE PEOPLE". Otherwise, we will witness and oligarchy and the lower and middle class will disappear.
The 1% is going down in 2016.

(50,983 posts)The radical recent change in Tweety's attitude on the Bernie candidacy makes that clear. All the MSNBC pundits have quieted down on Bernie. What does that tell you? It tells me they have strict orders to ignore Bernie. It also tells me they see Bernie as a threat to corporate supremacy.
2banon
(7,321 posts)so, do ya mean Tweety used to sing Bernie's praises but doesn't anymore, or that he's just on the "ignore" list?
Enthusiast
(50,983 posts)Tweety no longer had anything good to say about Bernie or his campaign.
Tweety is like a weather vane on MSNBC. Back in the 1990s his program could have been called The Get Clinton Show. Now he loves Bill and Hillary. Tweety does as he is told, exactly as he is told. He's a good little Nazi.
