(20,453 posts)How knowledgable is this man? Totally and confidently correct
. Next question.
By the way, he didn't have to say anything outside what really WAS happening in the Senate at the time of the Iraq war, or where the American people are with productivity and livable wages.

(9,086 posts)That anchor, Chris Cuomo, repeatedly tried to coax Bernie into saying Come on admit it Bush was actually right. Even though Bernie didn't agree, he finally said something to try to move the question along, you can see in the video
And minutes later this slimey headline was on the front of Politico: Bernie defends Jeb's 'longer hours' comment.
And of course within an hour repeated across social media including here on DU as a purely "informational post": http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251435045
That's a good lesson in in how to take something out of context and spread a lie fast.

(9,086 posts)Can't prove it though.
But on second thought no. There are thousands of media and blogger slimeys hanging on every word a politician says looking for a change to spin it into clickbait. Politico is becoming like the political version of the paparazzi photographers.

(9,126 posts)We have a lot of him in Hollywood. Not too bright nor deft is he?

(41,103 posts)and berating players, that's his thing. He really beat up on Amanda Knox, so unprofessional I vowed never to watch again. Personal trainer would work too maybe. Don't think he's too bright either, but women fawn over him, and he was voted most handsome, barf. His personality cancels any positives, the looks. Andrew C. the Gov. and brother is grim, got the brains maybe, very corporate Dem.

Yep, the issues ARE powerful when we actually talk about them!

(2,062 posts)It wasn't so much Bernie taking on Jeb and Hillary as it was him being egged on and put up to it by sleazy news anchors eager to start a fight. Kind of like rubbing roosters' noses together to start a cockfight. But Bernie refused to take the bait and stayed above the fray, although at first I had my doubts if he would. Very admirable, very classy, and that's why Bernie has my vote.
The sad truth is that American politics can get very dirty. It's still quite early on in the presidential race, but if Bernie keeps on surging the way he has been, and becomes a real serious threat to the front runners, he is definitely going to get attacked by them, and the attacks are likely to be vicious and malicious. He will have to stand up for himself and make the battle lines very clear. I hope and pray that he will be able to keep to the same high road that he is keeping to now.
Cheese Sandwich
(9,086 posts)Yep. How bad will it get? All the way bad. If he becomes a real threat every dirty trick will be played.

(50,983 posts)I believe Bush meant people need to work more hours. Period. It had nothing to do with part time or full time. Like many of the obscenely wealthy Bush thinks the American worker is basically lazy.
Out. Of. Touch.
Bush is out of touch and yet Cuomo was defending him. Against all evidence to the contrary Cuomo tried to make the born on third base Bush the good guy.
You are right about Bernie. Every response is spot on. This guy should be president. Classy and skilled!

(1,253 posts)solutions while pointing out the clear differences between his and HRC's known and/or unknown stand on an issue. He respectfully and politely drank Coumo's and Clinton's milkshakes and made some real points. Instead of stooping to The MSM's level he defends and empathizes with Mrs. Clinton while drawing clear contrasts between Secretary Clinton's record and his own. Home Run. A Gentleman and a Scholar if you will... I must confess I was skeptical of Senator Sander's political skills at first but this was a masterful media appearance. If he can stay on point like this all summer Team Clinton will not be sleeping well by Halloween....

I was able to see him live last Thursday at the 2-hour public policy forum in Arlington, VA. His commanding presence, voice and message are so powerful. It was amazing, the 500+ crowd, nice event. I'm still high from it!

(57,936 posts)Good job by Bernie. Horrible job by the CNN interviewer. Just pitiful reporting. Pitiful interviewing. How does that CNN interviewer keep his job. He was awful. And the words that purported to describe Bernie's answer as Bernie on Hillary's trust issue was dishonest. Bernie said he liked Hillary and wanted to focus on the issues.
This is why I don't subscribe to cable. I don't want to encourage or reward that kind of lousy reporting.
The internet news websites including Real News Network, The Young Turks, Papantonio's station, etc. do a much better job presenting news stories. Oh, and never to forget, Democracy Now, Ian Masters, and so many, many more.

(50,983 posts)Cuomo could turn me against CNN in a single segment. Pitiful is right.
I know exactly what Jeb Bush meant.

(1,000 posts)Seeing this and reading articles in The Daily Beast by Cliff Schecter and Ana Marie Cox, it is obvious that Hillary and Co. is all set to go after Bernie and it is going to be ugly.
Should she get the nomination, she will not get my vote. She is proving herself to be just another dirty politician and no different that what the Republicans will offer. i have never been a Clinton fan, Bill or Hillary, but was willing to vote for whatever Democrat won - not anymore.

(9,086 posts)Cliff Schecter is now officially on my shit list. I listen to majority.fm every Friday he is on there but the show is very pro-Bernie. I always had a bad feeling about that guy.
He's a neo-liberal through and through and pretty sure he has taken a lot of money from Mike Bloomberg too. That article was sickening.
