you've made a change to stop wasting food and write things like

I've made the '5 second rule' the '5 minute rule'

or

I dumpster dive my own garbage can.

I know it's a serious topic, but it's just ripe for making people feel smug about tiny things.

It's summer now, and just the other day, I ate some chicken that smelled a little funny when I cut it up to cook it - probably started spoiling in the hot weather we've been having here lately. Anyway, I started getting sick and having symptoms of digestive distress, but luckily I had some good herbal remedies on hand to deal with it. After taking them and eating extremely lightly for dinner, I was able to get over it - just had a couple of loose and stinky bowel movements the next morning.

Anyway - I wonder if the Bernie Sanders campaign has looked into better facilitation of food donations as a way of ending hunger in the US. Someone should definitely make that recommendation to them. Definitely, I think that all developed nations probably have a large food waste problem.

After treating their own bodies as trashcans by eating a lot of questionable junk food that they probably shouldn't eat, Americans add insult to injury by then throwing a lot more food away - which may even be of better quality than a lot of the crap they wind up eating, ironically. And then the landfills happily fart away with a whole $#*+load of methane, which puts a real hefty spike into global warming. And the whole cosmic wheel comes full circle.

3 nights ago I was in a 7-11 at 4am and saw the clerk trashing dozens of pastries. I asked if I could have a stale donut and to my surprise he gave me one!
