Well, I think we can write him off as a potential Republicrazy nominee!

(13,688 posts)of the Iran agreement. And he wants to privatize Social Security. It's just that he wants to appear moderate on a few issues so that he can come off as the anti-Trump.

How about Jeb's role in the 2000 election purging black voters?

(82,232 posts)As governor, he was the black community's worst enemy in Florida. And NO ONE has forgotten.

(2,191 posts)I really don't know what to make of it. The way he talks about those poor kids in the ghetto, he almost sounds like a "bleeding heart" liberal - but then, he says that the federal government should stay out of the whole mess! And so, I was yelling back at Jeb!: "Yeah, but what the heck are you gonna do about it?" And I heard no answer. Nevertheless, I came to a couple of conclusions from this video: 1) That yeah, Jeb! is trying to follow in his brother's footsteps a bit by being a "compassionate conservative"; or he could just be trying on the compassionate bit to see how well it plays with the Republican voters, and if it will make him stand out from the pack and boost his poll numbers a bit. Even though he's made the Fox news cutoff for the debates, he still wants to overtake the Donald. and 2) OMG! Everybody's feelin' the Bern - not just Hillary, but it's even bleeding over into the Republican party now!
When Jeb! made his compassionate conservative pleas, the response and applause that I heard from the audience was quite a bit less than enthusiastic and hog wild. You might even call it damning with faint praise.

(4,695 posts)Don't be fooled. He APPEARS to be running left when actually is talking about the failure of PUBLIC education. He wants to come in and completely privatize every public school district in America. He wants to privatize America, the World; TPP fascism.
Fool you once, shame on me, fool you twice, shame on; JEB thinks he can fool you over and over again. Do not ley him accomplish this. He will be the Rethug nominee, IMO.
It is the Bush Plan, to fool us again.
Parent Trigger Laws:
http://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2014/05/21/32choice_ep.h33.html
<snip>
In Florida, meanwhile, after two straight years of unsuccessful and controversial campaigns to pass parent-trigger legislation in 2012 and 2013, no state legislator introduced a trigger bill for the 2014 session, which ended May 2. In the past two years, the Florida bills drew intense opposition from teachers' unions and other advocacy groups.
"The legislature was pretty clear to us that they'd spoken twice on the issue, and there wasn't an interest in sponsoring it," said Jaryn Emhof, a spokeswoman for the Foundation for Florida's Future, a Tallahassee-based group led by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush that is supportive of trigger laws. "Issues rise and fall."
Those who fought the parent trigger in the state, meanwhile, believe that what's forced Florida powerbrokers to back away from the idea is supposedly the driving force behind the idea: parent power.
"It's clear evidence that there is memory with the public, that they don't like to be schemed and scammed, and they're watching," said Kathleen Oropeza, a founder of Fund Education Now, an Orlando-based group opposed to parent-trigger laws, who cited the opposition to the idea by the Florida PTA and other prominent groups as evidence that parents actually don't like the idea.

(2,191 posts)Gadzooks! Jeb Bush, the stealth compassionate conservative! He code speaks so that you think he's saying one thing, and he actually means the complete opposite! A brave new way to work both sides of the fence, and snag voters from either side!
It sames like Bernie Sanders is the only candidate out there who speaks clearly and plainly on the issues. You don't have to analyze how they're artfully dodging a straightforward response, or to listen to what they're NOT saying, like with Hillary Clinton. You don't have to figure out what they really intend to do behind all the showy bluster and bragadoccio, as with Donald Trump. Bernie gives you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. You can take everything he says at face value, and take it to the bank.

(2,191 posts)I looked at the page you linked me to, but I still couldn't find a clear, concise definition of it, so I went to Wikipedia. And then, when I saw that it was a form of astro-turfing, the pieces began to fall into place. It seems to be a kind of stealth way of apparently putting parents in the driver's seat when it comes to their children's education, when the reality is anything but, and their only empowering the corporate privatizers. When I saw that the teachers' unions were dead set against it, I knew it couldn't be anything good...
I'll say it again: Bernie Sanders is the only REAL candidate out there!
