These words brought tears to my eyes. Our prison system is such a horror!

There are many horrors to contemplate in our society--almost all of them brought about by Reaganism and complicit Democratic leaders, and made worse by the Bush Junta.

But this one--the mass incarceration of generations of black and brown people, often for nothing but being poor--and the horrendous police brutality on the streets and in the prisons--the dehumanization, the violence, the profiteering that these complicit forces have wrought upon vulnerable populations, breaks my heart. It is so awful.

Kudos and laurel wreaths to Bernie Sanders for saying so, and for trying to do something about it in the midst of overwhelming fascist power!
