We see who the leadership of the current majority party is in our lower house of Congress, and when we ask, "isn't there anyone better than THAT among them?" the horrifying answer is "no."

made me think of those counters you see in workplaces where safety is an issue. "We have worked 200 days without a lost time accident." They call them Safety Scoreboards.

The thing is, companies that really care about safety have safety training. They encourage employees to point out unsafe situations and behaviors. It's not enough to put a sign up and wait for the next accident to happen.

the republicans could have all their candidates for president and other leadership positions enter an arena to the blare of trumpets during prime time and fight to the death. The last one standing would become the nominee or the new Speaker or whatever. That would be much better TV.
