Sam Seder: The War on Christmas: Sam's Big Chance to Further the Cause

Many moons ago, CNN had Sam on the air to debate the war on Christmas with this guy from Concerned Women for America. It's a really important historical moment.

The Majority Report, live M-F at 12 noon EST and via daily podcast at http://Majority.FM

#0 sez: "I love making RWNJ heads explode by pointing out that 'Happy Holidays' is the invisible hand of the Free Market at work."

When a proposition is ridiculous, it deserves only ridicule. And when it stoops to Godwin, it deserves only scorn.

Just remember, Ben Carson is 7th Day Adventist. He/they does not believe in Christmas (or Easter). They say it is a Pagan observance (correctly).
Tannenbaum from a Teutonic forest? First Xmas tree in America was by German immigrant Karl Follen in Cambridge, MA in 1846 (with lighted candles). Even the Puritans liked it.

Carson as President--no Christmas tree? The ultimate war on Christmas from an uber-conservative.

Follen was a Unitarian. The Follen church is in Lexington, MA, and we buy our Winter Solstice Tree from them every year.

Fact: Christmas Dec 25 was not a national holiday until 1895. Started by Abe Lincoln, in a 'compromise' with religious zealots for their support of the Civil War.

Very strong and intelligent take down. That was a football game and the quarter back just got sacked.
It is exchanges like that which make me love politics and have hope for our country.
