Temporarily Humboldt Country-Firesign Theatre

(I like to post this at around this time of year, and this time it is also in memory of Firesign mainstain Phil Austin, who died of cancer earlier this year)

(For those who weren't around in 1968, this was an attempt to tell a version of the history of North America from a Native American viewpoint):

Truly amazing and funny. I often think about this bit.

Thanks for posting and telling us about Phil Austin.

white with foam.
Ask the cop on the corner, ask the cop in the grocery store, ask the cop on the woodpile, ask the cop on the rooftop, ask the cop that's knock knock knockin at your back door.
Go ahead, ask him.

Mr. Policeman, what makes America great?

It's candied apples and ponies with dapples,
You can ride all day.
It's girls with pimples and cripples with dimples
That just won't go away!
It's spicks and wops and niggers and kikes
With noses as long as your arm!
It's micks and chinks and gooks and geeks
And honkies (Honk! Honk!) who never left the farm

That's America, buddy! just remember-Abraham Lincoln didn't die in vain, he died in Washington, D. C.!

I could go on. I think I this stuff is ingrained in my diseased brain from my crazy teenage years.
The stuff is priceless.

First, thank you for the post.

Through a colleague whose sister was then married to Phil Proctor, was able to attend one of the sessions for "...Bozos On This Bus" LP.

What sheer genius and talent.

Porgy (with breaking teen voice): Uh, uh, ah ah a coming Mother!
