Along with all the other clown care occupants, they should never be allowed to sit foot in the WH. The old meed that both sides are the same, is pure right wing BS. They try and promote it in order to keep democrats from voting, and sadly some democrats fall for their BS. No matter what anyone says, both sides are NOT the same, and any of the three democrats running for the nomination are a million times better than the "BEST" of the clown car crowd, and their best might just be someone as dumb as Carson or Trump!

or somehow show that Dems have stepped up and called out this craziness while Repugs only say something when the blowback gets so bad they have to respond -- and then their response is usually tepid at best.

Bernie Sanders calling for a $15/hour minimum wage is leftist extremist rhetoric

Or, Bernie calling for the big banks to be broken up - also extremist to Carson.

Sanders and Clinton calling for action on climate change - also extremist to Carson

Sanders and Clinton calling for tougher gun laws - also extremist to Carson. To him, tougher gun laws are the same as a Muslim database.

It's not based in reality, but that's how many on the far right see things.

When they hear what they want to hear, they latch on to it like vice grips. That's why RW talk shows have had more success than liberal talk shows. Liberals have the ability to question the speaker and ask themselves if the statement is factual or not.

for something. I really believe the name of the game is to quit while you have some money and form a foundation and put it in there and pay yourself a salary. A lot of people are betting on another financial crisis in the next couple of years and the R's don't want to be in the executive branch. No one can tell me that the people who really run the R's wanted McCaine & Palen to really be the president in 2008. I do not think they want any R in the office this time either.

The Dems aren't going after Planned Parenthood under false pretenses, aren't talking about building walls to keep "illegals" out, nor are they advocating cuts on social programs to pass the saving on to the rich.

Its appallling that the MSM continues to treat Republicans with such deference and respect and always, even after hundreds of time, gives them the benefit of the doubt. Its like letting some children get away with lying and stealing small things without consequence, and so they just will keep seeing how much more they can get away with.

Jimmy blatantly and provably steals cookies. Media Dad brings both Susie and Jimmy into the room and all Jimmy has to say is "Well Susie steals cookies too, I seen her!". And Media Dad chuckles and rubs Jimmys head and says "I don't want to play favorites, I love all my children equally, so I'll just take Jimmy's word for it, no punishment for you!"

One Republicans and Sensible Centrists like to play often . . . .

Alternate names

false balance
false compromise
middle ground
splitting the difference
argumentum ad temperantium

Form

There is a choice to make between doing X or doing Y. Therefore, the answer is somewhere between X and Y.

The problem is that it's possible that either X or Y is entirely true, meaning that only partially doing the right thing makes little sense. This argument is generally built around the idea that the middle point between two extremes is equal parts of each side and therefore equally acceptable to both sides; but as the saying goes, half a kitten is not half as cute, it's a bloody mess.
