Hillary Clinton is a fairly standard politician. She plays it by the Washington playbook. Conventional wisdom, through and through. Sometimes this comes across cheesy. Cenk Uygur, host of the The Young Turks, breaks it down.

(30,058 posts)registering people to vote, guess she knew in some years later she was going to need those votes when she ran for the presidency. Just like Obama's mother placed a birth announcement in a Hawaii paper when Obama was born so he could use this information years later when he ran.

(8,267 posts)about which most US citizens 'feel the same way.' Recent polls show that better than 60% of respondents associate the word "liar" with Hillary Clinton. This bodes badly for HRC--and the Democratic Party--if she does happen to win the nomination. Ice that particular cake with the Republicans throwing all their smear campaign at HRC, and we're likely to see a serious dust up in the GE.
It must be clear to HRC, DWS, et al., that Bernie Sanders is getting more and more support through grassroots efforts--he dominates the social media. It must be frustrating to DWS that all her efforts to marginalize Senator Sanders are for naught. It must be terrible for HRC supporters that a recent video compilation of her "lies" has gone viral. Actually, it's no longer surprising to me that the majority of US citizens think "LIAR" when they think of HRC...
Indeed, when I think of HRC, I am reminded of one of my fave literary quotes:
Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practise to deceive!

(9,967 posts)Social media doesn't elect candidates or presidents.
Sanders more and more support? in your dreams! He hasn't been able to break the 30% mark.
In a few weeks, Hillary will take Iowa. NH is a toss-up, but after that, I have a very strong feeling that it's Hillary's.
Anyway, we'll find out soon, won't we?

(8,267 posts)Geez, I hear that every time I bring up HRC's past history of deceit.
It is to laugh...

(15,480 posts)Yes, folks, I've defended and fought for grits my whole life. If elected, I will serve grits at every state dinner! I will force feed them to Vladimir Putin! I will have them included in every ready to eat meal of our armed forces in all the wars I plan to wage! I will fight the Republicans in Congress from Day One to pass a resolution naming Grits as our national food. I'm no ways ever tired of grits!
Then she does her impersonation of the famous shrimp speech by Mykelti Williamson as Bubba Blue in Forrest Gump:
Anyway, like I was sayin', grits is the gourmet food of the South. You can barbecue them, boil them, broil them, bake them, saute them. Dey's uh, grits-kabobs, grits creole, grits gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple grits, lemon grits, coconut , pepper shrimp, grits soup, grits stew, grits salad, grits and potatoes, grits burgers, grits sandwich. That- that's about it.

(631 posts)Annie Oakley strikes out again primarily because she disrespects voters intelligence. She wants our vote, but not enough to actually stand up for, care for, or respond to our needs.
We need a leader who stands up for our common values first, not as a means to an end (power).
