that he's playin' there.
He rarely brought it out on the road with him since I knew him from the 80s on. Though he went through a couple of skins on his every day banjo.
He once "lost" it here at a gig he did in Rosendale. It was returned within two days. Everyone here knows the message that was on Pete's banjo. It goes: This machine surrounds hate and forces it to surrender. It was his trademark for the time that I knew him at least.

were like a second set of parents to me, and a lot of us here in the Hudson Valley. And as "Pete and Toshi's children, it's our job to keep up the work that they did for so long, and pass it on to future generations.
As long as Pete and his message are in your heart, you are part of the family as well.
