Interesting, I thought the former film critic turned right wing radio hack Medved's comment is funny. Republicans are ascribed those characteristics because they embody what the party is made up of.

Yes you are right - and the fact that he has a commanding lead for the party, and strong support among the people shows we have been right about it all along.

if republicans don't agree with trump - then its time to clean your own house cause it sure looks like you all do.

Probably not.
Awful, yes, but all that bluster is mostly just his ego wanting to beat everyone else. He would delegate and keep a low profile. Presidenting isn't really his passion, IMO.

They've been breaking the cardinal "Republican rule" since at least 1994, especially with the advent of Newt Gingrich on the national scene.

But these barbs are spot on. If anything, they understate the problem of Trump, all GOPer candidates, and the GOP in general.

On DU recently, gratuitous slurs and outright lies against any of our Dem candidates make this site look like a shadow Free Republic. I do not remember intra-party fighting being this nasty even in 2008.

Perhaps that is due to my ever more frequent "senior" moments, in this case also blissful. If I am remembering that inaccurately, please do not remind me of how nasty we were then.

But can we not aspire to do better in 2016?

24. Americans like Trump because
Sat Jan 23, 2016, 08:13 AM
Jan 2016

Trump is going to change the whole paradigm of the Republican Party. This is exactly what half of America is encouraged to want, even if it means jamming up the Republican status quo.

The media is playing this game, the money gamblers are full throttle.

Imagine Trump elected, then through an executive order issues an economic initiative where it is obvious his supporters profiteer at the level of trillions of dollars.

Of course the Bush Nazi party tapped the system for several trillion in a phony war. However, the Bush Nazi Party should be before the Hague indicted for war crimes and torture, yet George W. Bush thinks he is a Van Gogh, and his brother Jeb should be the next president. The Republican Party leadership is preparing Trump for another round of profiteering, but of course the media should be drumming the idiot off stage.

If any candidate fits those parameters to be impeached before he is elected Trump fits perfectly. Praise be to the Republicans that control the Congress to impeach a media driven self-serving reprobate, an unprincipled person a rogue, degenerate which they are. Who’s next?

Doesn't know his head from his ass in many areas of American culture. But he damn sure knows how to agitate his base of racists pigs and fellow traveler fascists that had been underground. If repubs let this clown become their nominee???? I won't be surprised. IF this clown somehow is let into the POTUS chair many, many Americans will applaud since they already support him.

I won't be shocked at all.

"He doesn't know the Constitution, history, law, political philosophy, nuclear strategy, diplomacy, [or] defense."

So?? That didn't seem to stop the Republican Party from nominating and installing George W. Bush.

"Trump is the living, breathing, bellowing personification of all the nasty characteristics Democrats routinely ascribe to Republicans."

So?? That didn't hinder the Republican Party from nominating Richard Nixon three times for the presidency.

Not to defend Nixon, but at least he had some intelligence,
unlike Ronald Reagan, who couldn't put 3 words together without a teleprompter in front of him, and only became president because of 2 treasonous actions: "Debate-Gate" & "October Surprise"
