*Carrier Air Conditioner Workers' Rage Over Move to Mexico Caught on Video*, CNN Money, Feb. 13, 2016
Workers at the Carrier manufacturing plant in Indianapolis were caught on video booing and jeering after being told that the plant would be relocated to Monterrey, Mexico.
A YouTube video showed Chris Nelson, the company's president, delivering the news on Wednesday. The plant employs roughly 1,400 people.
Nelson said it was a strictly "business decision" that was made in order to "stay competitive and to protect the business in the long term".
At one point, the crowd became so boisterous that Nelson was forced to plead with the workers to get them to listen.
"I've got information that's important to share as part of the transition", Nelson can be heard saying.
..In the statement, Nelson said Carrier understands that the decision will greatly impact "employees, their families and the community" and will work to ease the transition. (continued)

(44,086 posts)Also what about health ins., retirement and measly, shortened unemployment insurance if any now. Those households and families provide a tax base for the community and state, supporting many local govt. services- schools, roads, police, fire and emergency.
How many retail stores, medical providers, and businesses, from grocery stores to utility cos., internet, phone and cable providers and more will be effected adversely.
Why do I keep thinking of Germany when one in six people were unemployed after the Crash of 1929. And the result.

(47 posts)I think it's high time that we come up with a new law. Any corporate executive that decides to send jobs to another country for business reasons, is no longer allowed to live in this country. They have to follow the jobs that they've taken from American workers. Since they're traitors to their country they no longer deserve citizenship. Let's get rid of the traitorous bastards, they've been screwing the middle class since the 1970's. Judgement day has arrived....get the pitchforks out.

- Report: TPP Would Ravage The U.S. Economy -
A new study into the economic repercussions of the Trans-Pacific Partnership has concluded that, as predicted, the deal will have a huge negative impact on the U.S. economy. Americas Lawyer, Mike Papantonio, and Farron Cousins discuss this on Ring of Fire on Free Speech TV.
Hosts Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins emphasize drastic effects the TPP trade agreement will have on US jobs, beyond what NAFTA and CAFTA did combined. The US will then also lose more jobs due to the 'trickle down' effect, Cousins says.
Pap just returned from Asia for a month, where the TPP is the hottest topic because when it comes they will see a bunch of new jobs. In terms of US costs, projections for the TPP trade agreement are expected to cause the loss of more than half a million- 500,000 American jobs that will be offshored Pap says.
He also reminds that NAFTA projections were way off, not 200,000, but 700,000 US jobs left in the end. Pap asks what is Hillary's position on TPP.
