(6,409 posts)It was a handful of Democrats who voted for Nader, not the whole truckload of Democrats who voted for Bush.

(9,086 posts)Let's do it and welcome these people into the big tent instead of forcing them out where they can become spoiler candidates. Seems like a no brainer to me. Obviously these people won't be voting for Hillary.

(11,175 posts)Note how Nader's total plummeted from 2000 to 2004 (down by about three-fourths). Most Nader voters, including his running mate, realized (partly by looking at the photo you present) that they had made a mistake.
By contrast, Nader himself and a minority of his supporters (including some right here on DU) continue with the tired old excuses.
Winona LaDuke has addressed a specific issue on which she's knowledgeable and explained why Sanders is better on that issue. That's a valuable contribution to the debate.

(531 posts)It's long past time for one of our nominees to address the needs of Native Americans. I hope Bernie will now acknowledge her publicly.
Depressing that some on DU are still blaming Winona LaDuke & Ralph Nader for the crimes of Jeb Bush, Katherine Harris and the Supreme Court.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
